Re: The Clean energy Project - Phase 2 Crunching Chart

Last night a different milestone... 6,000 CPU years contributed for Phase I+II combined. See pie http://bit.ly/WCGPI1

Crunching On for cleaner energy, particularly removing the health damaging [the air that you breath] and weather (Rain) changing micro-particles aka aerosols.

Re: The Clean energy Project - Phase 2 Crunching Chart

This is one of the hardest projects out there to crunch. Longest Runs even on a high end system. with maxed fast physical RAM. still waiting for the WCG GPU option to kick on.. I got a 580 GTX 3 GB card ready to go. right now I got that attached crunching work on another project.. to tie it over till WCG gets GPU support. :) I like how they say you need a free CPU thread to crunch GPU. wether CPU is maxed or idle there is no difference for me. and GPU processing does not affect CPU tasks that I noticed.. :)

Re: The Clean energy Project - Phase 2 Crunching Chart

I've got a question about the screensaver chart:
What does the chart try to express? or what are the units?
And what results are we looking for? Should everything be green or red (where are the 8-10% efficiency)? Or is the chart not that meaningful at all (nothing about efficiency)?
I'm interested, because the graph was all over green today.

Hi,

Probably you'll find your answers in this CEP2 set of FAQs.

http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/cep2/faq.do

There's like 9 that cover what's seen in the ScreenSaver.

cheers

Re: The Clean energy Project - Phase 2 Crunching Chart

How long are the runs for you?

4 to 10 hours for me. That is what the longest runs for the other projects are as well.

Thankfully eight tasks from Boinc (am on three other different organizations that do processing tasks) can be processed at the same time.

Here I always thought that "hocus pocus" and "open, sesame" were magic phrases...turns out "non-redundant" is.
