Mine is set to 10GB, but my VM is not and that's set to allow a BOINC max use of 85%, of a static 3.5gig.

Most probably yes when looking at the daily Beta stat validations... many stuck in client queues, with a 5 day deadline not processed with any amount of high priority.

Are all the betas gone? I'm getting a steady no work message now. Yes, it's all gone since last evening right before I finished setting up my 2nd linux box . Edit: all we got now are repair jobs due to maximum disk exceeded - just got one at the moment. [Edit 1 times, last edit by X-Files 27 at Jun 19, 2010 7:35:40 PM] |

I also had a failure.
Partial Result log. I will post the rest if needed. It looks like it hit the 1500MB limit. Result Log Result Name: BETA_ A.35.C33H20S2.2.4.set1d06_ 0-- <core_client_version>6.10.17</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Maximum disk usage exceeded </message> <stderr_txt> |

Have you got a 6.4 ~~ 6.10.56 client? If so select the task, and hit the properties button on left. What CPU and Elapsed time is reported. If Elapsed is lower, then you confirm a client issue which is fixed in the 6.10.57 client. As for the percent being possibly incorrect (and they are estimates anyhow as it is not possible to compute progress exactly on non-deterministic), see post by armstrdj. 6.10.17... both have finished now, here's the time count of BETA_ A.23.C16H10N4S2Si.3.2.set1d06_ 1--: CPU time is 11:02:03 Elapsed time is 05:47:59 |

One thing that I noticed was that the CPU utilization was not 99%+. It didn't dawn on me until all the Beta WUs were gone and the HPF2s started running at 99.7%+. The percentages are what BoincTasks was showing.

----------------------------------------It was the third error of this kind for this WU, all during job #12 with a max disk value of 1500 MB. WU name is BETA_ A.34.C29H16N2S3.3.2.set1d06 |

The percentages are what BoincTasks was showing. True. There are times where the CPU usage % is severely going down as shown by BoincTasks. But with reports of so huge disk usage this is no longer a real surprise. Also, from reading the Result Logs I have the feeling that when a checkpoint has been taken after a job the next job is started by resuming from the checkpoint (message "Starting job xx, CPU time has been restored to nnnn.nnnnnn."). |
