Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

That's it for now, I think. There are f015s in my queue and the rain has stopped.

That was a very nice rain. I think the wait was rewarded very well :)

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

I feel I was allocated more than my fair share this time; but I did not think I would pick up so many when I was sleeping. Queue bump time. Some of these tasks look quite long too. Will there be lots of Server recalls?

Managed to snag 3 - with just one computer. My first three. 2 hours, 1 hour and third one was under ten minutes.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

i think the big question i have about this project is.. in the future are we going to get a time when its not everyone is waiting for the rain then its here and gone again.. personally i want my badge but i am currently working on my next badge for Human proteome folding as well. so when these rain showers come i miss out on most or all the work units for DDDT2 cause i am selected for a project that has alot more work ready and waiting. this last rain shower i got 2 i think. i was happy i got those 2 untill i saw others mentioning they got 100-850 or so... now im disappointed that i was working on another project while waiting and because of that i got penalized by how the work unit sorter works instead of the people who have only DDDT2 selected with if no other work checked.

But heck thats life i guess (and the fact that i cant change my computer settings when at work and figured when i got home that the rain was over so but messed with them for a few min and only got other work so reset them back to badge hunting 2 projects (1 of them dddt2) and i guess i missed it.

oh well.. again my question is ... Are we ever going to have a steady stream of work units for DDDT2 or is it expected to do what it has in the past 1.5 days of work with lots of waiting time?

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Nasher, I'm hoping that, once the DDDT2 process has been fully checked and verified, there will be a steadier flow of WU's - albeit, perhaps there will still be times when there's no work available.

I think the ideal scenario, is for there to be no manual checking between the phases, although as to whether the scientists still wish there to be this manual intervention or not, only time will tell...

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Also, please remember this round of rain was from the original 30 type A work units that went out. Normally we would have close to 2,000 type A work units from a single target (ts06). We have run the preruns for ts05 already and have sent those results back to the researchers, so if these work units are proper, we will have type A work units again in short order. Estimation on when the ts06 type C will be checked out is out of my hands and too many variables to tell, sorry.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Nasher: If you want me to give you some tips on managing your cache so that you can d/load more than just replacement WU and run another project at the same time ( I am working on BETA/Linux and hcmd 2) contact me on CJ's irc channel.

@totto73 post from Jun 21, 2010. If you would like some help with ubuntu installation in virtual enviroment I can help you.
I am not very skilled in linux using, byt it was quite easy.
I have done it recently.
It is very useful for HCC project due to new app version, which is running much better in Linux enviroment.
