Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

How do you pick up 850 WU's in one session? I've seen 5 new ones this week (and very pleased to get those too) - it means I've added almost 30% to my WU total in a few days......and not for want of trying either!! The really annoying part is that I forgot to set my calender to time whether the distribution rate is as fast as paint-drying - My hunch is that it is not....will try sun-dial next time.
Note to self: set caches for a year's worth of WU's and then sit back and watch the units go by......with their tongues planted firmly in their cheeks........no doubt........!!!!!!

Quite simple, have multiple cores (i.e. computers), and when there's a shower, ensure that the only project you've got selected, is DDDT2, up your cache, and keep pressing the Update button biggrin

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Yeah...micro babysitting and increasing strain on servers by manual updating is the easiest way to get them. I think I had two laptops on my desk I was manually updating while also updating two desktops all at the same time for the bulk I got.

I too run other projects, but I just paid enough attention to the forums to make sure I was running minimum cache until the rain started drizzling. Then changed project preferences. So, like others, I'm just as dedicated as others to increasing badges and contributing to other projects. No need guilt tripping people for playing the game. If you aren't getting any, you gotta play more aggressive. I don't agree with the distribution system either, but this is the system we have. Do the best you can with it.

Here, here, Coleslaw. Don't hate the player, hate the game! devilish I've managed about 1,100 WU's in this a-f batch of C's over 24 corez, but it came at a price...may darn finger hurts from clicking update and switching between systems on VNC.

Hope those other A types come soon. And all you who are miffed at me, don't worry, I'll back off once my mosquito turns the right color.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

So 1,100 results by pushing cache... just enough to get knocked out of the reliability class to NOT get the upcoming A type (If they are still on high priority distribution with the slashed run times ;P )

Meantime, no more bronze in my cube and still getting repair jobs to confirm the status R++

Happy crunching

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Still crunching some DDDT2 tasks. Some systems have already run dry, but a few are still going. So far,
10 Errors, 3 Invalids, 1 Inconclusive, 299Valid (including the a and b WU's), 148PV, 144IP (mostly on fast systems with low cache).

Now up to 356 Valid and 149PV. Still 86IP; a quad system crashed some time overnight and a dual core system picked up far too many tasks and still has 21. It sucks the way a dual core can pick up 3 days worth and an i7 only gets a few hours. They might have picked up the same number in total, but its the completion time that is important.
