I'm just curious. What's the longest duration of type A wu that actually finished?? What's with the past tense?! :) I hope the longest duration type A will be one that's not finished yet. My P4 is nowhere near finished. However, it was delayed over a day in real time by the 11 type C's that it picked up, which, with their short deadlines, preempted the type A. Those are all done now, so it's back to the big one. |

(I truly cannot understand these several reports where progress collapses back to ~2.8%... there should have been one every 2% to recover to). What clients are those, memory settings (startup log posted the easiest way to share the information) Mine looks like: Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 Starting BOINC client version 6.10.21 for x86_64-apple-darwin Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 Libraries: libcurl/7.19.4 OpenSSL/0.9.7l zlib/1.2.3 c-ares/1.6.0 Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 Data directory: /Library/Application Support/BOINC Data Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8600 @ 2.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 6] Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 Processor features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH DS ACPI MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SS HTT TM SSE3 MON DSCPL VMX SMX EST TM2 SSSE3 CX16 TPR PDCM SSE4.1 Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 OS: Darwin: 10.2.0 Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 Memory: 4.00 GB physical, 86.74 GB virtual Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 Disk: 232.57 GB total, 86.49 GB free Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 Local time is UTC -7 hours Tue Jan 19 19:43:24 2010 No usable GPUs found Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 Not using a proxy Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 World Community Grid URL http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/; Computer ID 864920; resource share 35 Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 World Community Grid General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 22-Dec-2009 22:22:44) Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 World Community Grid Host location: none Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 World Community Grid General prefs: using your defaults Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 Reading preferences override file Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 Preferences: Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 max memory usage when active: 2048.00MB Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 max memory usage when idle: 3072.00MB Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 max disk usage: 1.00GB Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 don't use GPU while active Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 (to change, visit the web site of an attached project, Tue Jan 19 19:43:25 2010 or click on Preferences) Tue Jan 19 19:43:26 2010 World Community Grid Restarting task HFCC_s1_02085723_s1_0000_1 using hfcc version 610 Tue Jan 19 19:43:26 2010 World Community Grid Restarting task nb680_00040_19 using hpf2 version 603 Tue Jan 19 20:38:50 2010 World Community Grid Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Which would make it a MacBook Pro (as you can see from the date stamp it doesn't restart because of reboots, since it just works), using at most 85% of both cpus, and 50-75% of the memory. The log doesn't have anything like a restart message, the only thing that happened in that time frame was a CPU benchmark. It is now at 19.920% at 56h54m with 107h to go. Also the percentage goes up a little then drops. It was up to 70% or so now it's back down to 21%. This is running on a mac pro with 2.66 Ghz core 2 dual xeon proc. |

brinktastee, there's been a number of reports on A's falling back a big percent for no apparent reason. Hope it's not a showstopper, suggesting you put that job in hold until the techs reaches in.

If anyone with one of these percentage issue work units can capture information for me that would be wonderful. The information is in the BOINC Data directory, under slots and some number. There should be a file in one of the directories called result.out. If you want, you can copy and paste that entire directory to your desktop, then zip the directory and send it to support@worldcommunitygrid.org
Please remember, to COPY and PASTE, this will allow you to zip up the directory without needing to shut down BOINC. If you're in windows, to zip the directory, right click and then send to -> compressed folder. Thanks, -Uplinger |

brinktastee, there's been a number of reports on A's falling back a big percent for no apparent reason. Hope it's not a showstopper, suggesting you put that job in hold until the techs reaches in. Sekerob, my second virtual linux box crashed four Type A from 26 to 2.04%. The compter was down some hours. After restart Boinc starts and I was wonderiing, that there was no progress after 10 minutes- all four showed 26.00 %. Then one after one the WUs went down to 2.04%. Same behaviour: CPU time is going on and at the moment of typing this all four did break the 3%. Do we have a pattern... 64 bit clients?

EDIT: It was rejected by your mail server stating it was too big. I will try to zip it tighter if I can. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Feb 7, 2010 5:42:08 PM] |

All five results.out are in the mail. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Mathilde2006 at Feb 7, 2010 6:09:16 PM] |
