Have they gone out?
----------------------------------------Who got 'em? This is the quietest Beta ever! "Patience is a virtue", I can't wait to learn it! [Edit 1 times, last edit by petehardy at Feb 4, 2010 1:20:24 PM] |

Pete, I'm betting that the techs are really hoping that this is a very quiet Beta test for the type A's - as that way, no issues are highlighted which would put a stop to the rollout of this project.
----------------------------------------Of course, that's all dependant upon a successful Beta with the type C's (and any possible re-runs of the type B's). |

This original announcement post from 2009 lays out the result structure. Blinking will have missed you the moment for the A type. One per target, in quorum 2, and for the test in distribution 3.

Beta these days is like nintendo wii (during the first yr) - gone in minutes. Unlike last summer were it can last for 6 hrs or more - due to the fact the 3 projects was ending and new badges.

Yes, the type A beta should be pretty quiet and the work units went very quickly due to the nature of their type. We are planning to release more work units today in beta. they will run shorter, but should take longer for them to distribute to people, giving a larger window of work.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Checked on my WUs just now and noted one from this beta. It has run for 36h and is looking to take another 19h, roughly.
Here's to hoping it gives good results. |

First one in, a user on a 6.10.18 client:
----------------------------------------BETA_ erlc_ a050_ ps0000_ 2-- 616 Pending Validation 3-2-10 23:12:43 5-2-10 07:49:05 24.55 682.1 / 0.0 Result Log Result Name: BETA_ erlc_ a050_ ps0000_ 2-- <core_client_version>6.10.18</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]> Talk about a clean log :D My copy is exactly at 50% this moment with 33 hours exactly computed in CPU time. At that rate the devices claim will be about 693... pretty darn close for a quorum and hoping to get it back before number 3, so mine is used for the grant average
