MrWizard,
There should be a linux application for it as I am running a type C work unit on my laptop at this moment. Ubuntu Karmic Koala release here. You may have tried to snag one when all of the application types were being loaded and Linux may not have been turned on yet. Please remember to post for the type of work unit you have in the correct forum thread, it'll help me answer the questions quicker. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Thanks, -Uplinger There was no clear indication in the WU name in my above post as to what type of work unit it was. I assumed from the ...a015... name it was type A. However, judging from you recent post about type C's I now assume from the ...pcb007... part it is type C. Anyhow, Boinc STILL not finding an application to download to crunch the WU. Are you sure you released a 64 bit applications for Linux? |

MrWizard this is type C beta test. And all aplications are 32 bit as far as I know I got one WU on my 64bit Ubuntu box. (18.22 UTC yesterday), but I'm using the 32 bit client. A 64bit client (x86_64) can get those messages- made the same experience. ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by Mathilde2006 at Feb 6, 2010 7:42:12 AM] |

For MrWizard, here at WCG only 32 bit compiled projects are circulated and this line
----------------------------------------No application found for task: i686-pc-linux-gnu 616 ; discarding Indicates it was looking for a 32 bit application, in vain.

MrWizard,
----------------------------------------I have processed 6 of these type C betas last night under Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit without any trouble. Although all WCG WUs are 32-bit they can run with 64-bit clients normally, therefore I suspect something wrong happened for you with this test. Since it is neither a type A or type C specific problem I think you should start your own thread if you want to get the last word on this problem because we might need to ask you for message logs, etc... and that will parasite the dedicated beta type C thread. Anyway we should stop here since it is for beta type A WUs which are still running (they are very long). Cheers. Jean. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by JmBoullier at Feb 6, 2010 7:19:13 AM] |

Did I got troubles with a beta task?
----------------------------------------I got a resend of this WU from another client aborting after 23 hours runtime. BETA_ erlc_ a037_ ps0000_ 3-- - In Progress 6-2-10 02:33:53 8-2-10 21:45:53 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 <-- mine BETA_ erlc_ a037_ ps0000_ 1-- - In Progress 3-2-10 23:10:45 10-2-10 23:10:45 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 BETA_ erlc_ a037_ ps0000_ 2-- 616 User Aborted 3-2-10 23:10:33 6-2-10 02:33:29 23.06 609.9 / 0.0 BETA_ erlc_ a037_ ps0000_ 0-- - In Progress 3-2-10 23:10:15 10-2-10 23:10:15 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 On my Linux64 @2.26GHz (3GB) 10% after 4h36m runtime with another beta concurrently. Meanwhile I know while it's taken so long. This is a resend of a A-type. I was already considering to abort it too, looked into a copy of the result.out file and discovered the creation and first Sent Time of this task on the WCG results pages. Also noticed 'ps' in the taskname then and concluded it must be a A-type. So patience required and resumed the task. [edit]I've to return this resend earlier than the original sent tasks.[/edit] [Edit 1 times, last edit by Crystal Pellet at Feb 6, 2010 8:07:26 AM] |
