Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

Both the A types on the crawling duo lappie are at 78% here, after 51 CPU hours. Still 66 hours ETC as per calculator, a very steady value. The client does not know what to think... it started with forecasting 269 hours and even having progressed so far still shows 28 hours to do... but at least the panic state got removed since 11 days to compute with 7 day deadline did kick that redliner up.

Be happy you had a 7 days deadline. With the 2 A-type resends I got on two different machines, I've to struggle against a deadline of only 2.8 days.

My redliner is fluoridated green wink (BoincTasks ?)
It will keep that colour almost to the end: my estimated runtimes 46 hours and 58hours.

Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

2.8 days is 40% rule. 2.8 days is 67 hours. Easy, and WCG knows your device can do it and assumes you will let it run like you always do ;>)

[ot](BOINCTasks ? Yes ! I hope he will develop so Aero features in the future and adds ability to identify running tasks of different machines with different hues)[/ot]

So, the first monster is done and in the end slightly quicker. Now 2 utterly different performing devices and claims not even 1 credit apart.

Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

Well after about 40 hours of cranking on BETA_erlc_a189_ps0000_0, it got up to about 20 percent. Then something happened and it is now at 42 hours and 2.84%, high priority, and has 132 hours to go.

I feel so important, if this pumpkin makes it to completion, I might get enough hours to go silver.

I have had the same feature with erlc_a101_ps0000_0.
Down from 28 to 2.8 %

Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

65.7 hours on my 1.8Ghz centrino. If it would have run on my retired P4, it will likely have run > 100 hours. With check-pointing every 2% progress meaning that if the client is restarted, about 2 hours in progress can get lost, reverting to last saved checkpoint status.

(I truly cannot understand these several reports where progress collapses back to ~2.8%... there should have been one every 2% to recover to). What clients are those, memory settings (startup log posted the easiest way to share the information)

Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

I have one still running - 86% after 80 hours. Should finish for about 93.5 hours.
On an old AMD socket A machine @ 1.51Gflops.

I tried it woth some C-Files yesterday and they did run without problems.
So I'm trying again- current 33% at 27 h runtime.

Interesting is, that the CPU time did not lose crunching time after the 'crash'.

As I told you, I changed the RAM size in the preferences before the problem with this WU started.
I was also surprised with a loss of more than 2%.
