Funny that I chose so well! I chose it because it's neat and doesn't have crash/error/etc results in with it, like some of the messy ones. Mine is one of the original set, not the new ones. It'll be done about a day from now.

Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

This afternoon, there were big storms here and several power outages. One unimportant computer is not on a UPS, so it had to be restarted. The Type A job it had spent days on appears to have gone back to the start. result.out has gone back to being a small file and stderr.txt says:
Calling gridPlatform.init()
INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning.
Calling gridPlatform.init()
Calling gridPlatform.init()
INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning.

It had appeared to restart okay. However, some hours later, this:
11-Feb-2010 21:57:33 [World Community Grid] Task BETA_erlc_a148_ps0000_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
11-Feb-2010 21:57:33 [World Community Grid] If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.
11-Feb-2010 21:57:35 [World Community Grid] Restarting task BETA_erlc_a148_ps0000_1 using beta10 version 616

This one looks like a tough one. It's using 200MB of RAM. It's been running 12 hours and it's at 26%.

If this baby finishes it should get me a silver badge. I wish I could get a few more like this on my fastest machines.

Argh. Woke up this morning to this:

<core_client_version>6.10.18</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[

How much more then 10GB do these take?

Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

It's actually a WU limitation, much less than 10Gb, not a BOINC limitation. If you look in the client_state.xml you can find what the permitted max is.

edit: here an old uplinger explanation of 2007

Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

What is the label for the setting? The only "max" I see is <max_nbytes>0.000000</max_nbytes>.

Based on the previous results for this unit, it should probably be server aborted. I don't think it's ever going to be successfully completed.

I just hope everyone that tried it gets some credit.

Re: New Beta Test - Repeat Test of Type A for DDDT2

Trusting that uplinger will check in to give instruction. You can suspend the job, rather than abort.

... the label, hmmm that's a long time ago, thinking it's similar to this

<rsc_disk_bound>419430400.000000</rsc_disk_bound> which is what repeats for all hcmd2 jobs which are very variable in length i.e. 419mb.
