Whilst Neil Armstrong radioed from the moon "one small step for men..." not all men made that step. As I understand it, Neil Armstrong dictated his famous statement, "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" from the descent ladder. The first words he said ON the moon were, "Hey, this stuff is soft. I can kick it around with my foot." last words on the moon... [According to Apollo 7 astronaut Walter Cunningham in his book "The All-American Boys" Gene's last words on the Moon were "Let's get this mother out of here." During the mission review in Santa Fe, Gene was surprised not to hear those words but what seems likely is that what he was remembering was his "Now, let's get off." at 188:01:25 and that, in later tellings, the wording changed to the more colorful version Cunningham quotes.

The daily JAXA Sea Ice extent, highest for this date on their 2002-2010 history?... well actually it's 2003 since, DA, if you looked a little closer and take the JY's off, the satellite did not get launched until June 2002 and the purple line not kicking in until July. You thus need to dot the eyes again, if you can.
----------------------------------------From Down Under April 9 news: Arctic winter ice recovers slightly but long-term loss continues April 9, 2010 LONDON: Scientists monitoring the Arctic ice cap have reported an increase in the amount of sea ice that is two years old or more, but they have also warned that the spread of ice is still low compared with the amount seen in past decades. Walt Meier, a research scientist at the National Snow and Ice Data Centre, at the University of Colorado, said of the Arctic sea ice: ''I think it's the sixth or seventh lowest maximum of the previous 32 years.'' The centre published data for the northern winter of 2009-10 that showed the maximum extent of ice by March 31 this year was 15.2 million square kilometres. This was 647,000 square kilometres below the 1979 to 2000 average for March, the month when measurements are taken for winter sea ice. The twice-yearly figures of winter highs and summer lows for the sea ice are seen as a strong indicator of global warming. The rate of decline for the month of March, over the period 1979 to 2010, was 2.6 per cent a decade. Japanese scientists reported in the journal Geophysical Research Letters last month that winds rather than climate change had been responsible for about a third of the steep downward trend in sea ice in the region since 1979. The study did not dispute that global warming was also melting ice in the Arctic, but it could raise doubts about claims that the region has passed a climate ''tipping point'' and that the loss of sea ice could sharply accelerate in the coming years. Guardian News & Media DA, see that mention of winds? AO -3.41 it was this year. We'll keep you straight on truth line and bring the missed news too!

Global cooling in progress:
----------------------------------------http://www.usatoday.com/weather/climate/globa...acier-national-park_N.htm Two more glaciers gone from Glacier National Park By Matthew Brown, Associated Press BILLINGS, Montana — Glacier National Park has lost two more of its glaciers to climate change and many of the rest may be gone by the end of the decade, a government researcher said Wednesday. Warmer temperatures have reduced the number of named glaciers in the northwestern Montana park to 25, said Dan Fagre said, an ecologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. "When we're measuring glacier margins, by the time we go home the glacier is already smaller than what we've measured," Fagre said. From the Himalayas to Alaska, glacier melting has accelerated in recent decades as global temperatures increased. The meltoff shows the climate is changing, but does not show exactly what is causing temperatures to go up, Fagre said. The park's glaciers have been slowly melting since about 1850, when the centuries-long Little Ice Age ended. They once numbered as many as 150, and 37 of those glaciers eventually were named. A glacier needs to be 25 acres to qualify for the title. If it shrinks any smaller, it does not always stop moving right away. A smaller mass of ice on a steep slope would still continue to grind its way through the mountains, but eventually disappears completely. The latest two to fall below the 25 acre (10 hectare) threshold were Miche Wabun and Shepard. Each had shrunk by roughly 55% since the mid-1960s. The largest remaining glacier in the park is Harrison Glacier, at about 465 acres (190 hectares). Smaller glaciers and warmer temperatures could lower stream flows, which in turn prompt fishing restrictions and hobble whitewater rafting businesses, said Denny Gignoux, who runs an outfitting business in West Glacier. Tourism is a $1 billion a year industry in the area. "What happens when all these threats increase?" Gignoux asked. "We're losing a draw to Glacier." ... read further lat link

Sek that air has never been so clean what with all those aeroplanes not flying Don't fly, then.LOL retsof you really need to look up the definition of ironic check out this link http://www.thefreedictionary.com/ironic It might help you irony - witty language used to convey insults or scorn; "he used sarcasm to upset his opponent"; "irony is wasted on the stupid"; "Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders do generally discover everybody's face but their own"--Jonathan Swift Is this irony half full or half empty?

How long will it be until the next Italian government? Can one make a decision before the next one appears? There have been frequent government turnovers since 1945, indeed there have been 61 governments in this time.

Dream On about your spotless sun having any remarkable effect on climate or weather for that matter. The watts output does barely change... it's unwavering ~1366 and be warned or I'll slap another of my most irritating charts in that shows 15.4 spots for March and that flatter than Kansas line for TSI. The evidence in amongst is that snow that's going like it's never done before and heat does not stop at coast lines, not even in the most wildest of eyes wide shut Christian Anderson stories.
----------------------------------------Daily Departure - April 19, 2010 (Day 109) 2 Blue specs left for North America, Hemisphere wide, more red than blue... got a sound explanation, DA? El Niño maybe, but than what about those La Nina's before... did they do the cooling? PS ask the Inuits and what's happening to their 1000+ year old burial sites up north in the permafrosted ground and how tastie Polar Bear meat is... can you / will you remember, DA? It's severely toxic laden with heavy metal! Now how did these end up in the polar environment? 2003!

There is less and less cherrypicking of that type as time goes on now. Notice this activity from a few days ago. ![]() This graphic is visible on my screen without scrolling.
