Whoa back right up there Mr Brown
----------------------------------------http://www.number10.gov.uk/ brief reality check Without the current El Nino the Earth is steadily getting cooler on account of a currently waning Sun There's an Egypt sized area of Ice at the North Pole that wasn't there 2 years ago and your CO2 amounts to 0.0387% of the atmosphere forgive me but have you checked out the "Climate Catastrophe" we are all living through that's right there isn't one everything is pretty much perfectly normal Right please continue as you were saying....... 50 days to save the planet - yeah right The Planet has been here quite a while and will continue for quite a while after we are gone and finished with the making of many speeches. If you hadn't allowed the closure of the Wind Turbine Factory. If you had over turned the decision on Lewis Wind. If you were investing in Solar Wind Wave River Geothermal and encouraging their deployment we might believe you however............ You have reintroduced "Clean, Safe and Carbon Neutral" Nuclear Power and sold it to EDF. You have allowed Biofuels to become a legal requirement which in the process has the unfortunate side effect of destroying rain forests and causes people to starve on account of the directly related rise in food prices. There is now a stock exchange where you can buy and sell a constituent of air (and who ends up paying for it) http://www.bluenext.eu/ and then there is tax in the form of Climate Change Levies tax in the form of Carbon Permits and tax in the form of fuel duty and indirect taxation of the replacement of all of these perfectly good and functional Power Stations we don't seem to be able to have any more. but please do continue doing such an excellent job of saving the World from this non-existent catastrophe. Thanks Dave ![]() |

from that Eso it looks like it might even be less than 0.0387%
----------------------------------------You should keep up with the latest info http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/ccgg/trends/ exactly how much of this increase is down to the warming of the oceans due to a formerly warming Sun? and the destruction of the rain forest due to Biofuels and exactly how much of the CO2 that remains at the end of each year is on account of Mankind? and then the key question Given all of that how much of the 0.7C rise in temperature seen during the 20th Century (We have seen none yet in the 21st) is down to Mankinds contribution to the 0.0387% of the atmosphere that is CO2 today? ![]() |

We have not had a real summer for 3 years running. I'm all for a tropical Minnesota. |

and your CO2 amounts to 0.0387% of the atmosphere ![]() Doesn't a rising CO2 level lead to an increase in the plant life on Earth? I mean you and I exhale CO2 while plants inhale that and exhale O2. Isn't it then logical to assume that our little corner of this Universe is set to have a re-greening in our future? ![]() ![]() |

Isn't it then logical to assume that our little corner of this Universe is set to have a re-greening in our future? Plants can absorb some yes but not enough to keep up with this. The plankton in the oceans can absorb quite a bit, but the oceans are reaching their capacity for absorbing CO2 and the oceans are becoming acidified from absorbing so much. mikey159b, look up Leibig's law. Wheat has lost 8% nutritious value because of the disparity in CO2 +38 percent since start of the industrial revolution. And artificial furtilisation to compensate does not work because that flushes out, ends in the oceans and causes dead-zones there. The Swedes know all about what happened to their lakes due acidification.
----------------------------------------When you research, don't go looking for items that say what you want it to say, because the Aint Trueist are expert at that and rehash that endlessly... within the next 100 posts predict the question will be put again: "but is CO2 doing this all". No, it's a major factor, land cover change and aerosols from coal plants mostly does their substantial part too. Ask the Brazilians if they already see desert development in the central Amazon region and decline in rain continuity... it's happening. Man made as much as the dust bowl in the 30tees was man made... and repeating itself.
