You realize, David, there was no weather before the advent of TV? And there were no cataclysmic weather events before the Great Global Warming Hoax? My father used to say "Nature abhors a vacuum." The vacuum of 24h TV must be filled, either with mindless blather, advertisements, or hysterical microphone-clutching 'reporters' telling us what we can see for ourselves, or indeed, a mixture of all three and their variants.

I watched the news unfold last night and there was a lot of that
----------------------------------------I think journalism now consists of monitoring a closely related twitter feed. One guy last night said "And there's a host of Police Motorcycles driving down Franklin Street" Yes we just saw them behind you TV is a visual medium ! Recently had a discussion with a Ex-TV Producer about the obsessive need to recap what we have just been shown. And it's down to there now being hundreds of channels and they have to update those that have just joined. How about making TV programs with enough content to make people put it in their schedule and then enlighten them throughout the allotted time for the program so they "tune in" next week at the same time for more quality stuff. Some programs don't have any content they just recap and recap and recap again. Science programs used to have science in them Now it's just Brian Cox. More verbiage from Mr Hansen http://dissidentvoice.org/2013/04/400000-hiroshima-atomic-bombs-per-day/ "Recent studies suggest that billions of years ago Venusâs atmosphere was much more like the Earth with substantial quantities of water on the surface. Over time, runaway greenhouse gases caused evaporation of the water. Today, Venus is the hottest planet at 900 degrees F shrouded by an opaque layer of clouds. It has the densest atmosphere of the terrestrial planets, and it is kept hot by a thick carbon dioxide, CO2, atmosphere. In this fashion, the fatal attraction of fossil fuels is bound to vaporize planet Earthâs precious water." .....Yes and Venus is ~ 1/4 our distance from the Sun closer. An atmospheric pressure 92 greater than ours, It's atmosphere is over 96% CO2 (Ours is 0.04%) It has no magnetic field to protect it from the Solar Wind. It is constantly resurfaced by volcanic activity. One day on Venus lasts longer than it's year and rotating almost vertically with respect to the Sun it has no Seasons. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus But don't let a few facts like that get in the way of the hyperbole Mr Hansen. Yes you are so right Venus is the perfect proxy for what is going to happen to the Earth ![]() ![]() |

Back below where we started
----------------------------------------http://www.theglobalthermometer.com/solaryear.png All that extra heat appears somehow, despite the blanket of CO2 (1 part blanket to 2516 parts hole), to have evaporated back out into space ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by David Autumns at Apr 21, 2013 3:53:42 PM] |

A global propaganda campaign will glorify Earth Day and its message is that you must change your life to accommodate the lies that sustain the environmental movement and permit government agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency to strangle the economic life of the nation. http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/...ions&utm_medium=email

You have to love weasel words
----------------------------------------I have just received an email from my local MP extolling the virtues of our recent Budget announcements In it he writes "To help both the individual and businesses, the fuel duty rise planned in the dying days of the last Government has been cancelled. Running a car is an essential part of daily life for many people and transporting goods around the country is a huge cost for business, so this reduction is very welcome. This Government has frozen fuel duty every year it has been in power meaning fuel is 13p cheaper than it would have been. The most local data available shows this saves the 2.7million motorists in Yorkshire and the Humber £170 every year." Amazing isn't it that they are claiming it's cheaper even though they haven't reduced the tax take one iota It's 13p cheaper than it would have been is not 13p cheaper If you haven't put the price (of fuel duty) up it's still the same price not a reduction It not a reduction because they put VAT up from 17.5% to 20% which also applies to the Fuel Duty Fuel Duty is the only tax that is is taxed ![]() |

Earth Day 1970 Predictions
----------------------------------------http://tucsoncitizen.com/wryheat/2011/04/20/earth-day-predictions/ compare and contrast with the current claims of our imminent doom "As Bjorn Lomberg wrote and documented in the “Skeptical Environmentalist,” most claims by environmental groups are not supported by the facts and the environment is in much better shape than we are led to believe. Keep that in mind this Earth Day." Nice positive note to end on Dave ![]() |
