Our favourite Arctic Sea Ice Graph is back ... already shock

http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/en/home/seaice_extent.htm

looks like they are getting it ready for the Satellite they launched yesterday

The missing bit, after the failure last year of the AMSR-E instrument aboard the Aqua Satellite, has been filled in by Windsat http://www.nrl.navy.mil/WindSat/

Hopefully we will see the baton being picked up by GCOM-W http://www.jaxa.jp/projects/sat/gcom_w/index_e.html

Current Sea Ice Extent at the North Pole

11,908,594 Sq Kms biggrin

By way of comparison USA = 9,826,675 Sq Kms

(looking at the coverage provided by WiindSat compared with AMSR-E ... it's pretty ropey - with big blocks of the pole missed daily)

Classic

in a nutshell

Overall, however, the observed changes have little impact on the mass balance of the
region. We therefore conclude that in contrast with their counterparts in the Amundsen
and Bellingshausen Seas (Rignot et al., 2008) the ice streams and ice shelves in the
broad region under investigation herein have not been changed in a significant way in
the past 12 yr, which suggests that the ice dynamics of the entire region does not have
a strong impact on the mass budget of the Antarctic continent

i.e. The South Pole is just normal

Another one to add to the perfectly normal list in our perfectly normal Climate we are living in today

You know the one where wherever possible our Governments are curtailing progress to the detriment of all Mankind, promoting policies that destroy the environment, starve the people and remove their potential, all in the name of trying to save us from something that isn't happening.

That Climate

Fukushima: A Nuclear War without a War

The Unspoken Crisis of Worldwide Nuclear Radiation The World is at a critical crossroads. The Fukushima disaster in Japan has brought to the forefront the dangers of Worldwide nuclear radiation.

The crisis in Japan has been described as "a nuclear war without a war". In the words of renowned novelist Haruki Murakami:

"This time no one dropped a bomb on us ... We set the stage, we committed the crime with our own hands, we are destroying our own lands, and we are destroying our own lives."

Nuclear radiation --which threatens life on planet earth-- is not front page news in comparison to the most insignificant issues of public concern, including the local level crime scene or the tabloid gossip reports on Hollywood celebrities. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=28870

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Amazing how the south pole hasn't changed much at all. North pole is changing though. Considering the amount of different fuels found, make me wonder if the melting isn't man made in order to get at those fuels easier than going through the ice. Hmmmm.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Hi Bearcat

The North Pole isn't changing either it just went through one of those cyclic events we haven't been able to record before

Check it out here http://wattsupwiththat.com/reference-pages/sea-ice-page/

The state of the North Pole appears to depend on whether there is a breakout of the cold from the pole over winter. If we, in the Northern Hemisphere, have relatively mild winter the cold stays over the pole. If like in 2010/2011 we have a bad winter the Cold from the pole is spread out and the ice fairs less well.

This will be the 5th year of recovery of the north polar sea ice since the minimum recorded in 2007.

It's not disappearing as you have been told

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Context

It's the dusky blue, almost straight line, that everyone is in a panic about.

We are told by the IPCC that it will be at 18C by the end of the Century.

I expect it will be pretty much where it is now, if not a little lower.

Right this minute the Global Average Temperature during our last orbit around the Sun = 13.12C (as recorded by 2565 NOAA Weather Stations, hourly, around the Globe - 141 Countries)

The graph above is currently the result of 30,998,053 individual measurements.

Gerald

They are not clean, not safe and not carbon neutral

End of

Let's watch how much "Climate Change" pressure is brought to bear on the people of Japan as justification for switching back on Nuclear Power Stations.

..to stop the damage to the environment..Nuclear Power

Good Grief
