---------------------------------------- Back in Blighty completely surrounded by the stuff It's covers 70.8% of the Earth's surface you know. Earth is a misnomer the Planet should be called Water Looks like the Scot's (Who have declared they will not have any new Nuclear Power Station built there) are continuing to blaze the trail for renewables ![]() ![]() |

----------------------------------------Autumn delayed by cold winter, Woodland Trust predicts The trust said much of the fruit on bushes was unripe at present Autumn in the UK could be delayed this year with berries ripening and leaves changing colour later than usual, wildlife experts are predicting. the LOL line as what was formerly known as Man Made Global Warming had to be mentioned (this is the BBC after all) What we've found in the last 30 years with climate change, the growing season for lots of species has extended and - leaving this year aside - things are coming out earlier and leaves are hanging around on trees later. Roll on this equally terrible winter and they will be saying "Leaving the last 2 years aside" Eventually the penny will drop Dave ![]() |

How's that North Pole Sea Ice Area graph of yours coming along Sek?
---------------------------------------- How's that Global Sea Ice anomaly? In huge deficit? How's the temperature coming along in the "roasting hot area most affected by Man Made Global Warming" North Pole? Remember Rome wasn't built in a day If anyone is interested in reality (and not boiling Lake Michigan and it's steaming geyser - hint: try a quick google on NOAA-16 Lake Michigan) here's a good page http://wattsupwiththat.com/sea-ice-page/ Let's hope the Sun returns to service soon. A few hot days in Summer would be worth a good berating by the "We are all doomed" crew Dave ![]() |

Some lovely person sent me this link
----------------------------------------http://exploreourpla.net/explorer/?map=Arc&am...&yir=2010&dag=225 It's of the "Man Made disaster" unfolding at the end of the Petermann glacier Andreas Muenchow says years of data on the glacier itself show that after this month's event, the mass of ice is still, on average, discharging about the same amount of water it usually does - some 600 million cubic meters a year, or about 220,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools. "Even a big piece like this over 50 years is not that significant. It's just the normal rate," he said. Muenchow warns people not to jump to conclusions. "An event like this, this specific event, all flags go immediately up, 'Oh, let's explain this by global warming.' I cannot support that," he said. So in 1962 a bigger chunk broke off, as is the way with seaward glaciers, and it has been melting at the same rate since then. i.e. everything is perfectly normal. It's 250 sq kms and the Sea Ice at the North Pole is today, nearing the end of the yearly melt, still over 6,000,000 sq kms so this "massive" iceberg is 0.004% of the "inexorably disappearing" on account of our CO2 and soon to be "ice free in Summer" North Pole Dave ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by David Autumns at Aug 15, 2010 12:21:30 AM] |

never mind Gerald
----------------------------------------If you will insist on switching off the stuff that makes the Internet so great... ![]() I'm liking your box of squares plenty of blue ones in there. I'm working on 2 of my green one's in the hope of turning them blue. I've set my heart on getting a 6 core into the Big Green Crunching Machine. Best deal in the UK is this one http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/AMD-Phenom-II-...-Cache-HT-2000MHz-95W-OEM They will only sell it with a motherboard but that's 16.8Ghz for 95W !! But I could use another motherboard for the then redundant 905E (10Ghz for 65W) As soon as I get my pennies from my work in the desert ![]() |
