Your shadow fighting marysduby against that global conspiracy of lies you're led to believe they are. You can post all the blog opinions you like [on and off topic], does not change what's happening in the real inconvenient world: Sea Ice at the Arctic lowest in modern history. And should you read about it being warmer 10,000 years ago there being less ice... it was when the Earth axis was pointed quite differently, such as through precession what I've posted about more than once. We are officially on the move towards the cooling phase since over 2000 years due the various earth positional cycles around the sun, yet we're warming due Anthropogenic changes applied to the planet... a UK judge ruled so too!

The UK was 5 deg C warmer 5000 years ago, and then it got cold quickly!
The UK will warm up and then cool down, fast.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Evening all

Sorry I haven't been around recently... real life has intervened

also through the careful selection of components I have been tweaking a 10Ghz+ number crunching monster of a machine that really does takes less than 100W at the socket. This little quest is not yet complete as it is still on the AMD stock cooler and I think with the addition of one of these....

http://www.quietpc.com/be-fr-eur/products/amx-coolers/mugen2

I should be able to remove the fan and have the whole machine, apart from the fan in the PSU which isn't overworked wink, passively cooled.

Looks like I should stay away more often the longer we let this thing run the more this Man Made Global Warming Nonsense shows itself to be the political animal it has been all along

Roll on the general availability of http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Phenom%...GR%20(HDT55TWFGRBOX).html hugs

You have to love progress biggrin

Dave

As 2010 warms up, Arctic sea ice at record low
http://content.usatoday.com/communities/green...-sea-ice-at-record-low-/1

Scientists at the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center report that Arctic sea ice – frozen seawater floating on the ocean surface – is at its lowest physical level for the season and is on course to break the previous record low set in 2007, reports the Guardian, a British media outlet.

Also, research from the University of Washington's polar science center suggests that the volume of sea ice in March 2010 was 38% below the 1979 level when records began, according to the story.
