One of the WCG admins posted this about SCC:
Hello, The project is absolutely not finishing in two weeks, or any time soon. The project bar completion rates bounce around if researchers run through one set of work units before sending us the next set(s). These researchers are definitely sending us more. It sounds like there will be plenty of time to badge hunt. But, I still plan to hit my next milestone before easing up. No reason to come this close and then not hit it. |

The admins sure kept us in nail-biting suspense on SCC for a long time!
However, I'm glad that SCC and the other projects will stick around for a while. I should have my next SCC badge around 12/17/2018. ![]() |

Hi all -- as I posted on our Christians Against Cancer forum, I'm back crunching again. My PC was running on the hot side, and I discovered that the heat sink was loose. I took it to the shop and they said that the machine screws holding the heat-sink base had broke (they said that was common for the stock cooler for the I7 chips). They installed a new "redesigned" heat sink and fan (which blows sideways instead of upward) and base, and my PC's up and running again -- it is running cooler than when it was brand new (I bought it in 2012, I think). And it is really quiet now, although the fan on the power supply makes is a little noisy when I start it up.

Welcome back! There's plenty of work to be had, and your rejuvenated i7 should slice right through it.

Too bad you can't take the warmth of that Core i7 with you on those multi-day hikes in the mountains. ![]() |

On the SCC front, I've seen batches as high as 3225. That's out of 3238 so, we are getting to the end of the known work. Time will soon tell if we have a hiatus before the next wave of work.

Highest SCC batch I've now seen is 3227 (out of 3238 known batches). We're inching our way there.

Hey Col323, I know where the 3227 batch number comes from, but how do you know SCC has 3238 known batches?
