Hey Col323, I may actually be able to make it to the next SCC badge. If I put all my computing power towards SCC, I should make the 50yr badge by December 22nd. Its going to be close.

Go for it!!!
I'm curious to see how the ending of OET impacts the amount of WUs processed on each project. OET was 150-160 years of run time per day; that's a lot of horsepower to divvy up between the remaining projects. It could reel in the SCC end date significantly. But, the chase will be fun. Go for it!!! ![]() |

They have a news article from June 2018 about new target molecules: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/about_us/viewNewsArticle.do?articleId=563 Have they run out of target molecules already? Congrats, Col323! Glad you're with us! Hello fearless leader. I intend to catch up with you in points in the year 2083. ![]() |

Interesting! I hope that SCC will get a restock. They have a news article from June 2018 about new target molecules: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/about_us/viewNewsArticle.do?articleId=563 Have they run out of target molecules already? I'm not certain on what molecules are being targeted. I wish I could find the post, but somewhere I saw that as far as anyone knew, batch 3238 was the highest batch number. Today the highest batch I've seen is 3051, but the lowest batch I've seen is 2914. (We seem to have a group of batches we chew through and then the next group of batches is sent out.) There hasn't been an Ebola unit returned since November 24th, so it appears that project is done. That firepower seems absorbed and distributed across the remaining projects to the point where we've reached our new normal - about 330,000 SCC units/ day. The other variable is December's Christmas Challenge. That can sometimes attract some big iron. If so, the Childhood Cancer project might see another rate increase. That challenge runs from December 1 through December 26th. My estimates have SCC ending sometime around Christmas to the middle of January. (Yes, that's a big window, but we process a large group of batches at a time so it's tough to narrow.) Hopefully you can get your 50 years in by then. Give it your best, as we could see that end date move in again during the next week or so. Good luck! |

My 50 year badge estimate has shortened to December 16, 2018 because I upgraded some of my computers over Thanksgiving. I should be able to make it; I am optimistic anyway. Thanks for the encouragement Col323. ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by thepeacemaker7 at Nov 28, 2018 5:03:09 AM] |

Nice! What did you upgrade to? I always love to hear what hardware is being put to good use. :D
Seoulpowergrid posted this breakdown of the impact of OET ending: Comparing rough October averages to today: Zika nearly doubled from 70 years/day to 130 MCM went from 190 years/day to 270 MIP has gone from 110 years/day to 130 FAHB went from 20 years/day to 30 SCC went from 45 years/day to 60 |

Back in early 2017, Pandelta advised me to invest in dual LGA2011 motherboard systems with two E5 2670 V1 Xeon processors. I just recently upgraded those systems from E5 2670 V1 processors to E5 2695 V2 processors.
On Ebay, they recently had a firesale of E5 2695 V2 processors. I was able to buy two for $239 dollars (total) back during Thanksgiving. The processors were individually around $115 dollars. Two E5 2670 V1 processors will give you 16 cores with 32 hardware threads. Two E5 2695 V2's will give you 24 cores with 48 hardware threads. I'm surprised Pandelta hasn't bought every last one of them on Ebay already. ![]() |
