Re: Supplemental Charts Going Under Due It's Own Success

Holy Mackerel, some traffic, self inflicted, the weekly stats from the WCG chart-host came in the speed mail this morning. Partial quote:
Here are the latest stats for your Photobucket Account this week:
New file views: 76937
See which images & videos were viewed where
...

Now that I've created a market, donating 0,1 cent per view will pay for my annual crunching cost too [just kidding].

The only thing that was changed was the Pi1 pie chart and maybe the Start Here forum Index now sitting as Global Thread up top has helped volunteers find them more easily.

Enjoy, but don't stare too hard and read things that ain't there, particular if a % drops a few percentage points. All info on progress is dynamic and subject to change without notice.

Re: Supplemental Charts Going Under Due It's Own Success

Two and a half months later, the above charts, leider, oversized now and for that my apology, could not edit the post any longer, these have received buttons with the badges pasted on top and hot links to the official science project pages. Now the problem is publishing these real time, minus the 1 minute 30 seconds it presently costs me whenever I decide to hit the Run Update button. It's working to my browser, but they look like dog doodo, e.g. the gannt only showing the background and the % progress table at right side and a cell right top planted firmly to the middle of the image... sort of WYSIWYG, the Seattle way. So, the question here is... anyone familiar to auto publish graphs, tables was easy, to webpages. For now I'm content just doing the images in jpg or whatever, putting the button links separately, but ideally have them show as is in full png. Anyone in the deep knowl?

thanks

PS, the Start Here graph tables are now in thumbnails seriously cutting down on the bandwidth use. Click on the links next to them to see the full size, with having to abide by the forum 600 pixel width restriction. The WCGPi1 was actively clicked on 853 times last 13 days per the host stats so there is seeming market amongst the members.

Re: Supplemental Charts Going Under Due It's Own Success

The Mad Hatter in me laughs, for finally he managed to figure out how to create a 3D feel to a flat spreadsheet... just fake it with a graph on top, 80% transparency, yellow background, and no data to graph.

Woohaaa, it's the last one this year... next year new dice.

The little arrows now indicate change from previous day as:

Horizontal, when little change
Pointing to right top or bottom corner for moderate change
Up or Down, more than moderate change from previous day.

The logic of why one box of a project can be up yet another down I'll let you figure out on your own.

Above 375 TFL (day) we still are and will be biggrin

edit: and the fringe color will be either greenish or reddish... depending if overall was better or less from the day before.

Re: Supplemental Charts Going Under Due It's Own Success

Maybe this one is good for addition to the supplementary chart collection, formerly first used to illustrate the 2009 X-mas and FightAIDS Challenges... FAAH is still top... HFCC strangely low [but this should be discussed in the relevant project forum]

Re: Supplemental Charts Going Under Due It's Own Success

To kskjold,

Just updated to Picasa 3.6 and was pleased to see that the webfolder images are now autoupdated even at the slightest change. Not sure I mailed you the private folder key to get access.

Also saw that PhotoBucket has implemented some sort of follower notification function so those that are interested in seeing the updates will be messaged... curiously since setting the thumbnails in the chart lists, the viewing has dropped dramatically... those that open the links to the full size images. Good or bad, it signals which to update frequent/less frequent.

Re: Supplemental Charts Going Under Due It's Own Success

A couple of ribbon charts were given a make-over which I trust improves readability [less squinting, less guessing were each project is on the 3D gridlines to see their volunteer contributions]. The project labels with stats for the day and change arrow were moved to the end of the stacked area graphs, bottom up, from oldest to newest project and project legends for inactive/intermittent/small left below. Re: Supplemental Charts Going Under Due It's Own Success

:O

Someone commented yesterday somewhere else that he'd never recommend VB to do programming in unless he truly hated the person, but it came for free with my office program, so I use it, with all it's quirks you have to know.

Just managed to script in and compute the charting start and end date range so for most the furthest right date on the Y-Axis now also is the printing date. Using a frequency of 1 per 6 days of crunching it was not always completely obvious what the last data point's date was. So, including an end of day prediction and no longer showing the publishing date left bottom:

full size

As bonus, there's a little bit of extra space at bottom to add more projects to the legends wink
