Project "Metro-ize, Phase I" has completed. All the blue framed graphs of the Charts-1 set have been updated to this new model, making them look lots more consistent, clean, AND automating the sort orders from largest/longest/biggest with clear color labeling background establishing "connecting" to the respective line/area/bar in the graphs. Most of these charts have now a current day and multi day summary list with values for the respective periods. Sample: http://bit.ly/WCGCPY
On to phase II. --//-- |

So phase II was cleaning up the woodchips and slickify the execution and appearance... which IMNSHO has turned out to produce the cleanest charts, so far, such as http://bit.ly/WCGART and http://bit.ly/WCGCPY (The CPU reference will be phased out again, and Runtime put in place... the app.plan impact)
Thanks to some dirty VBA code [below], the color coded tables are always ranked from biggest to smallest, and in the referred example, showing where each science compares to the global averages... above/below/on the median... and 'on the go' applied some "Gestalt Law of Continuity" to the chart features... playing with your brain, and much more to come on that ;P Next up, all the project labels text/numbers, like on the dashboard, will print red text when there's a record and blue when there's a milestone (if you had not already remembered that ;>). Will keep me busy for another week to figure that out and then clean up again for that 10 second wiz experience (on my side)... then when all is re-concatenated in a script... vacation. --//-- A 10 minute chore reduced to a 10 seconds wiz.... just Ctrl-Shft-S and no time to fetch another cup of brew (Mokarabia). Sub GlbSort() P.S. The *blue* stacked area charts are going to loose the bevel appearance. Sorry to those who just acquired a 3D display, but this is how it might all be looking across the board http://bit.ly/WCGTFL P.P.S. Anyone notice the yellow blip in the WCGCPY chart? Need 1 or 2 more of those to make it to sapphire for that science ![]() |

After a few days of hiatus on publishing the performance charts, here a slightly enhanced version. The stuff that always looked like gummed on is now inside the graphics area. New and old, pasted below to visualize the change: http://bit.ly/WCGSNS
----------------------------------------Whilst looking at this, think I've dreamed up a way to get the current day labels to align to the cumulative data set below... Watch this space, should this one turn out to doable. --//-- edit: That did not take long, the legend text and color identifier having an articulate link... vincitore ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 28, 2012 4:52:50 PM] |

Seems to fill a need to 'see' [those pesky days left mostly] :
----------------------------------------24,023 Clicks on Your bitly Links since Apr 25, 2012 14,000 are direct referral from the WCG forums and 10,000 from elsewhere links that sites and members maintain... and this is using the bit,ly shorts only. 60 to 90 thousand views monthly per my 'bucket' stats, the dark days of February showing most. ![]() Crunch On --//-- [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at May 24, 2012 11:51:02 AM] |

Questions for the chart viewing interestees:
1) Who *can't'* see the HD animation of the below image [what browser/version]? [Those with FF above 3.5 see this special png file format out of the box], 2) If you can't see the animation, is the image appearing sharp or blurred? [Those who can't see the animation would see only the latest date] 3) If you see the animation, is the 2FPS to high or too low? [with intend to stick more than 5 into an animation, when refreshed] 4) Are parts of the moving spheres not updating in any frame? Thanks for your time |

can see in FF 13.0.1
----------------------------------------Seemed fast at first, it took me a but due to the project names bouncing around but when finally to able to get color to project stuck in my head it was better. all parts moving in every frame for me. The "mirrored" of project list bouncing around was a little distracting but i'm an old man:) Pretty cool animation, I like it! No movement in IE8.. see the last frame and it's sharp ![]() |

1) Can see in FF 13 & 13.0.1 | cannot see in IE 8 & 9
----------------------------------------2) In both FF & IE CEP2 + GFAM + CFCW have a ring of light fuzzy color around them (like eclipse of sun effect) 3) 2FPS looks about right to me 4) All parts updating in frame
