This chart has existed long, though as evidenced by the regularly returning forum discussions, few seem to know the way [which is fine as it keeps the bandwidth use down ;p]. As with the years/credit chart, added the 100,000 year milestones with date of achievement. Those who know how to the ruler-on-screen test, can see better than the mark-1 eyeballers how we're doing.
Enjoy [interpreting], but *not* in this thread ;>) P.S. That legend-less blue line is the BOINC members, not the WCG members. Taking a percentage of active members, versus BOINC members, we're on 19%. Compare that to BOINC global and you have an idea on how well WCG does in the retention department [which you can also check out at BOINCStats] :D Oh, The chart, of course, now that you've read the verbiage: http://bit.ly/WCGMEM |

Sadly, Photobucket continues their act of screwing with paths and file names. Made the mistake to activating their new site [will be forced in April] and lots went belly up. Whilst direct paths work to the old addresses, shorted-links such as with bit.ly get redirected, either fail or ends one up directly in the chart library. Try http://bit.ly/WCGHFC . This one ends me now on this warped path http://s137.beta.photobucket.com/user/Sekerob/media/WCGHFCCProdChart.png.html [hit 'Like' while you're there ;>]
As you can see [at least I can't], my stats sig is now drawing a blank, which I had bit.ly.fied. Seen a post that a member cant see the graph at top of the crunching chart thread of HCC, but do emphasize that the links *ARE* case sensitive, which with a pure numeric file name is lesser of an issue. Sigh. |

Sigh. That happened to me a couple of days ago but it was fixed on the following day. Sadly, Photobucket continues their act of screwing with paths and file names. Made the mistake to activating their new site [will be forced in April] and lots went belly up.... Sigh. Didn't have the nerve myself YET to touch the [Make the Switch] button with the 'Please note that once you make the switch, there's no way back to this site' small print next to it.. There's 14 days left before it gets forced it says on my screen. I think my sweaty hands will be pressing the button tomorrow... ![]() Beware of nuked signatures! |

Well.. I've been experimenting a bit with the 'new and improved' Photobucket today, which will be forced upon us shortly. So far it's erratic behaviour, unresponsiveness and use of massive amounts of system resources has me wondering how this is ever going to work for the signatures. Especially the part where I have to delete all signatures first before I can upload the new ones has been made near impossible.
----------------------------------------What a bunch of who designed and made that.I have a backup plan ready to convert all signature links to (see my signature location), so I may be forced to swing that plan into action sooner then I had anticipated.. |

Yes, figured out your backup plan, but decided to stay mum. The address is nice and short without bit.ly.fying it, so it fits nicely in my sig [13 characters spare] :D
So far, FTP uploading continues to work [overwrite], except for various new uploads [post the problem start last year]. The program reports the below piece of log back, which suggests the ownership or rights are not set properly first time. Whoever figures that one out is king amongst the FTPing customers. [17:55:05] The operation has been added to the Transfer Queue. Check the Transfer Queue for the status. Nice to see that you embraced the new experimental location for the signatures Sek. Let's see if this bandwidth is realy as unmetered as they say it is.
----------------------------------------![]() I'm not surprised that Photobucket messed up FTP-uploading. After they messed up the user interface and statistics, surely they couldn't leave FTP untouched.. ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by SNURK at Feb 20, 2013 7:19:41 PM] |

Just to inform you. |

SNURK, I've also swapped signature locations - so, hopefully, with more and more people swapping, you'll get some better ideas as to how your new site is performing.
