Following on from SNURK's note that he's reaching the monthly free bandwidth max with his great forum sigs, checked my own Photobucket account few days ago. Something weird was/is going on: The monthly hit totals were flat until December at around 100k views [about 3200-3600 daily], then January saw over 500,000 hits, so I changed to 'private'. Unless having the direct link to the charts or the custom bit.ly links, Google et al will not be finding the WCG album anymore. Hope it's not impairing any WCG viewers, but certainly not going to service any endless refresh requests. The ftp program uploads 'at most' twice daily for the Dashboard and the Quicklook, around 11:00 CET. and 17:00 CET.

Have been doing loads of reading and redesigning the DB structures and tables and learning table formula [and leaving some to fix behind], but the ''piece the resistance'' stumbled upon yesterday was 'camera'. This allows to basically take a live [camera] feed of any piece of spreadsheet or chart and superimpose it on top of any other place in a workbook. Charts such as WCGYPM [Years per month, by project] and WCGTPM [Tasks per month, by project] might get a whole lot smarter looking tables below the 3D bar charts... just as the linked article suggests. Of course, the Dashboard itself is a prime candidate to fit parts on top of PI1. Sal(a)vation

Truly awesome stuff, this livecam snapshot overlaying onto other charts. First pass taking WCGYPM and putting a spreadsheet table in place, autoupdate. Compare to WCGTPM how the old version looked. Now the table can be sorted independent of the chart ranking order, the table in historic launch date order... newest always at bottom and full freedom to format at that to further pimp it up and still appearing as if fused inside the graph frame.
Stay tuned for more. -^/^- --//-- |

And so it came that finally first steps to direct web publishing were taken... but it comes at a price:
The PNG uploaded Photobucket version: ... and the mht formatted version (which somehow is being sized up a bit, probably because I've not specified some parms, the likely cause of some definition being lost) ![]() The live-camera table below though now sorted from biggest to smallest to match the order of the 3D bar chart (which for whatever Seattle logic reason was always in reverse). Would it ever happen for the website gets up, the likely way will be to show a matrix of thumbnails and on click them popping up in hi-res [similar to how they used to show over at ksjold's] ... all part of the 5 year [loose] forward looking plan... so many things I'd like to do :D --//-- |

I have no gone to the non picture version and it loads fine and contains what I am looking for anyway. Thanks for what you do!!! ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by mikey159b at Mar 1, 2012 2:32:45 PM] |

Knew that was coming, though I did post about it in Web Support in reply to a bug report. Also amended the Chart I supplemental list FAQ... a bandwidth friendlier solution to both sides and serving those who only are interested in the the remaining time indication... so much so that no one noticed the missing cut of pi (bar those that of course stayed cordially mum :)

Yeah, I noticed the change in the chart, but thought that it was intended. Since I'm only interested in "green" info, I didn't squawk. Thanks for keeping the charts up to date.

And a new version of PI http://bit.ly/WCGPI1 , with a little Metro flavor, though not figured out yet how to apply medium transparency... it's either all or nothing, which looses the color connection to the pie segments. The one DDDT2 square with transparency applied to though nicely leads the eye to where the pie outline is. Think it looks better compared to the uneven sized labels of before, strewn around.
For the occasion, the pie follows now the same chronology as the dashboard below... clockwise. Thanks to a little help from google search, that's now automatic MrExcel: Sort chart data descending without sorting data source :D --//-- P.S. Might apply the color blocking to the table below (where the riches are ;-) |

While you're out refining your charts some day do you think you might be able to add SN2S to WCGCPH? I'd really like to see how that one compares credit wise.
