My biggest monster finally finished:
BETA_ CMD2_ 0001-PP1BA.clustersOccur-RADIA.clustersOccur_ 33_ 2-- Valid 4/25/09 01:57:41 4/27/09 22:29:10 53.44 409.8 / 273.2 Didn't think it was going to make it. The others finished in less than half the time on different (and much faster) machines. Hopefully the next round of beta jobs won't be quite as large...not that I mind the large amounts of run time added to my Beta stats ![]() |

It's now at 35 hours and 26%.
It's currently at a bit under 140 hours for estimated completion. Which is just under due time. Did I read that you still accept results after they are late for a week? Are they still used or just for credit? I am thinking most of these results will be late. This is on a system that is averaging 2:37 per result. Did I read that you still accept results after they are late for a week? Are they still used or just for credit? Right. knreed said that they need as many results as possible for these CMD2 betas and that all WUs will get full credits for their runtime. I understand that even if the project starts before all WUs are returned, particularly the monster ones, the results of these WUs are needed to help split the real work at reasonable sizes. Mine is at 24 % with at least eight more days of runtime to go, and the machine is not running it 24/24. Cheers. Jean. |

Processing BETA_CMD2_0001-PP1BA.clustersOccur-TPM3A.clustersOccur_4_1 Currently 10.191% after 6:40:26 Estimated 16:50:52 remaining, but simple math takes me to 52 hours remaining Xeon R5404 (2Ghz), also running another Beta (BETA_CMD2_0001-PP1BA.clustersOccur-VINCA.clustersOccur_5_1 21% after 2 hours, set to finish in 10) and 2 energy work units, not sure if its affecting anything at all. Update. After 22 hours and 46 minutes this unit is sitting on 55.321%. Estimate is now at 12 hours 26 minutes. It does seem to have sped up, as my extr. total time is now 41 hours (i.e. 19 hours remaining). This machine is currently also crunching 2 ceps and 1 rice. *edit* I have followed knreed's instructions, though I don't think it was necessary in my case..? Update 3: 51 hours 48 minutes and 52 seconds in 79.379% done BOINC says 11 hours 9 minutes 22 seconds remaining My guess is around 13 and a half hours *edit* Hmm, that means its taken 29 hours to do 24%! Final update: Task completed in 63.17 hours. Result log is clean: <core_client_version>6.2.28</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]> I see that one of my wingmen errored out after 35 hours because of maximum time elapsed. Log follows: <core_client_version>6.6.20</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Maximum elapsed time exceeded </message> <stderr_txt> INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning. *cut lots of debugging symbols* [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 28, 2009 6:01:19 AM] |

Thanks for the clarification, JmBoullier.
----------------------------------------I think the fact that my machine had rebooted for some reason along with the 'restarting' part of the message was a red herring for me and made me read past the the first CPU limit part. I now have a better understanding of remaining time and flops and can now appreciate why I should have followed knreed's suggestion to use the workaround. I now regret not having done it because the wingmen will most likely encounter the same problem unless i The allocated time is increased ii They do knreed's workaround Regardless, thanks for looking at and interpreting the results for me :) ![]() Crunching in memory of my Mum PEGGY, cousin ROPPA and Aunt AUDREY. |

Just had to abort a unit after 48 hours.
----------------------------------------BETA_ CMD2_ 0001-PP1BA.clustersOccur-Q01105-2A.clustersOccur_ 5_ 5-- The unit had been sitting at 15% for over 24 Hours. ![]() ![]() |

I've been returning various run times, all valid. This most recent WU is at 4.096% at 9 hrs. I am going to let it run as it is advancing. I love these!
---------------------------------------- My Beta badge is at just over 9 days. It is always exciting to see it inch forward! ![]() |

Check the flops values per post of knreed and do the edit per his instructions, Diana G. Would be a pity to run this elongated beta and not get the full hours out of it because of it overrunning the 10x factor set in the "bound" value.

knreed <snip>.. Open your client_state.xml file. It will be located at either C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC or C:\Program Files\BOINC (on Windows)...<snip> I tried looking for the .xml files and since BOINC was saved outside of Program Files [C:BOINC] on Vista, I do not see any .xml files at all. Anything I can do to fix that? Thanks! edit: running v 6.2.28 . ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Diana G. at Apr 28, 2009 9:50:25 PM] |
