Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

My 2 Beta Type A WU's finished faster than the original estimate of 12h15m. They ran together except for about an hour at the start and at the end.

BETA_ E000338_ 202A_ 00251400o_ 1-- Pending Validation 3/10/09 16:45:58 3/11/09 16:49:16 10.08 177.8 / 0.0
BETA_ E000338_ 176A_ 002513014_ 1-- Pending Validation 3/10/09 16:41:15 3/11/09 16:49:16 11.23 198.0 / 0.0

My machine profile is set to use at most 60% of the CPU. Details are:
3/11/2009 1:39:33 AM||Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Extreme CPU X7900 @ 2.80GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11]
3/11/2009 1:39:33 AM||Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 pni mmx
3/11/2009 1:39:33 AM||OS: Microsoft Windows Vista: Business x86 Editon, Service Pack 1, (06.00.6001.00)
3/11/2009 1:39:33 AM||Memory: 3.18 GB physical, 6.56 GB virtual
3/11/2009 1:39:33 AM||Disk: 220.30 GB total, 164.13 GB free

I manually shut down for the Windows Automatic Update in the middle of running them. I waited until right after they both checkpointed, hit Snooze on the Client, and then shut down. So I don't think I lost more than a couple of minutes when they restarted.

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

Darn, my second type A errored after 20.1 hours sad

Result Log

<core_client_version>6.2.15</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<stderr_txt>
Calling initGraphics()
INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning.
[ERROR] Failed to open either source or destination files while copying wcgrestart.rst to ../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/BETA_E000338_445A_00251a00f_1_3. Error: 2
called boinc_finish

</stderr_txt>

In summary, my 3 type B all validated on a Phenom quad core running Fedora10, one type A errored on an Athlon64x2 core running RHEL5.3 and another type A errored on a Centrino running Fedora10, both with error 2. Those were the only 5 Beta's I received. This shouldn't be a permissions issue as BOINC is installed in my /home/user directory on all machines rather than a system wide install.

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

I have a WU with a large discrepancy in run-times

BETA_ E000338_ 017A_ 002510007_ 1-- Valid 3/10/09 16:15:24 3/11/09 23:09:38 24.65 373.7 / 194.1
BETA_ E000338_ 017A_ 002510007_ 0-- Valid 3/10/09 16:15:22 3/11/09 05:38:33 9.43 194.1 / 194.1

Top one being mine, quad core mac running windows vista.

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

Hmmm,

workunit BETA_E000338_246A_00251500q seems to be erroneous too,
mine errored out with

<core_client_version>5.10.45</core_client_version>
<![CDATA[
<stderr_txt>
Calling initGraphics()
INFO: No state to restore. Start from the beginning.

like some others before.
Second copy has error too ( both after approx. 7 hours of crunching),
guess that all replacement copies will have the same error...

It's not forever, but it does sound a bit slow. My P4 just finished one in 35.51 hours. The P3's should finish sometime tomorrow, roughly in the 60-70 hour area.
