Johnny Cool, these are BETA work-units. If you don't want to run any betas, you need to remove the check in Beta Test area in "MY GRID".

Not wanting to use the term "sarchasm", I have already done that. wink

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

You better push them ahead as they will run longer than initially estimated and certainly if planning to let them run concurrent. With "a bunch" you may miss the deadline, slow down the beta result, slow down the project resume (but you don't need to get a guilt complex ;>)

One way to push them ahead is to get more of them.

Having been lucky enough to read the beta announcement just after it was posted (advantage of going to bed late!), I increased my caches.

One machine received a beta and happily kept working on one of its cached NRW WUs. So I bumped the cache up, restarted Boinc, and it fetched another beta. Then it decided that multiple betas actually gave it a time constraint, so it switched to working on a beta instead of NRW.

If you please post a copy of the Result log, click on Pending Validation link, we can maybe learn if the result is not showing any of the illustrious "validating" but not really valid. My quad is 7:12 hours in on 2 'A' at 50.1%.

This one finished on an Athlon XP 2800+ running puppy linux

Thanks in Advance

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

...they will run longer than initially estimated...

Not really. I got 4 type A estimated at 12+ hours which completed in 9.25 to 9.48 hours (all 4 running concurrently) and 4 type B estimated at 10+ hours are currently running with a projected duration of 3, 3.25, 4 and 5 hours.

All the 4 type A have the same clean result log as BobCat13.

The 4 type B currently running are page faulting a little less than the type A and have very different memory usage: the two fast ones use about 40 MB, one slower one use 80 MB and the slowest one use 150 MB.

Cheers. Jean.

Don't know, woke up and looked in on the quad/vista to see that the 2 'A' type running concurrently are now 14:35 hours with 45 minutes to go. The 'B' types are much faster, they ran together with the 'A' and finished in 6.9 and 4.8 hours respectively. Their logs look very clean:

Stock speed Q6600, so wonder if you're on XP or Vista and what clock to get them to finish in 9.25 / 9.5 hours, concurrently.

Re: Beta Test Clean Energy Type A / B version 6.29

I must say that the B's are much faster ready than the A's...
The A's are still running, but almost all B's are ready now. the crunchtime of a B unit lays between 2 to 4 hours. smile
And... no error so far laughing

We've seen a few of these reports, 3 to be precise of 8 months: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...7&submitbutton=Search.

The BFS FAQ says:
ERR_RSA_FAILED -120

BOINC couldn't check the encryption key on a file it downloaded. Does the file have a signature?

Solution: Complain about it on the project's forums. BOINC will try to download the file again.
Also try to reset the project. It may be that your public key is corrupt. A project reset should fix that.
