Hi everyone.
----------------------------------------Good to see that Merle survived ok! Well done. Good also to see that Anne-Lise reached Poole without misshap well done to you too. As little brother said we had a good trip to Alrewas and I did meet a young lady in uniform, but (being a soldier,) he got it wrong again. She was in fact a Lieutenet in the F.A.N.Y. and NOT in SOE which was disbanded after WW2. and I did indeed discover a man who had been part of an SAS group that managed to get themselves in a bit of a fix in Aden, (more years ago than I care to remember), and I was able to help to get them back. Nice to see that at least one was still alive and well. The world is certainly a small place. I also met up with a fellow Aden Veteran who asked me why I was not at their annual event taking place at Blackpool as I speak. My answer? Because I am here, same reason as him! Managed also to meet up with a couple of family before setting off home, arriving back at about midnight A good week all in all, and yes I do inclde the Danish Invasion! Take care [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 25, 2011 2:49:48 PM] |

....Hmmmm....it may be easy to have the car and misplace the keys.....but having the keys & misplacing the car is a whole new ball game...... @ Scribe: You said you would rat, but I thought you joked ![]() Great to meet you. We could have talked for weeks. Have a safe trip home. @ Merle: Great to see you back. Hope your recovery will be swift and painless. @ don den: Sorry we did not fix anything so we missed each other. Next time in Red Rose County, Rosie or public transportation permitting we shall do better. @ old sage: Same goes for you. Funny to ride the motorway and knowing we probably met somewhere - you driving over there in the wrong side going north. @ Edwardian: Glad you and old sage had a fine trip. Still thinking of the green, green grass and the stonewalls of the Yorkshire Dales you chauffeured me around in. I assume there was one very happy dog receiving you. I miss your relative and her immense knowledge of history in particular and of everything in general. @ Guitar Man: It was such a treat to visit you, Sue and your daughter and go to The Lord Nelson and listen to Pink Cadillac - and you look smashing in your white Stetson and your cowboy boots! Thank you all of you ![]() |

Oh Anne-Lise.......You won the raffle.......again :) How lucky can one woman be? You call me when some lottery has a real big jackpot with instructions on what to do, please, and I'll buy tickets to Denmark for all creatures big and small, all the Edwardians and their extended families, Backbeat, Chips and Murphy + the shy cat. |

Oh, yes Merle, I'll be on a slow boat to Europe at 14:00 tomorrow.
I believe you need some rest, too, and trust me, I'm not rest. I tipped a large cup of coffee on Mrs Morley's carpet this morning Everyone I met has been all that made me become an anglophile ages ago, - and you let me win every raffle I hold tickets for so I just might consider going back some sunny day in spite of the roundabouts - but first I need to see some representatives of The Edwardians in my country ... |

Good Morning!
Dark, warm and a little windy - just enough to so that the boat will rock |
