Evening all
Half yearly visit to my Sri Lankan Quack this morning. Everything seems to be in order but it's now on to the Vampires for the next stage not forgetting to fit in a 'flu jab in the meantime. |

Good Welcome back home John, no doubt with a huge bag of clothes for washing for poor old Sue. Regards to all, sorry I cant make it this year, but this weekend Old SAGE and I are off to Alrewas in Staffordshire for the unveiling of yet another memorial, an event organised by Special Forces. I am looking forward to it. Sorry to dissapoint you Ted, Only about 3 pieces of washing needed doing. I did however bring back at LEAST 6 large family size bags of M&M's............All different (For the Grandkids you understand) Have a good weekend. |

Little Mermaid just rang me to ask me to say Hello to you all, as she cannot get on the web from where she is staying.

Hello from the York area. I`m getting spoiled to pieces here. York Minster, Jorvik Center and the York City Center with narrow streets and wonderful buildings.

Evening all
Yes it's a beautiful city. I've had but one visit when having a week's seminar at the university. I've been pretty lucky having seen a good number of British towns but my regret was that so many had been redeveloped so too many centres looked identical. This was brought into sharp focus as I drove through France and. although the outer sections of the towns looked pretty dismal, when you got to the centre the original architecture was intact with the town sqcafés cafes and feeling of community. York and Chester are two that have retained their charm. The only thing I can say about here is that we have again won the 'Best London Village' award. Not many people in Devon would recognize it as a village but, as my house dates from 1841, it's been around a while. |

Morning all,
We are off to the Dales today to visit Pateley Bridge, Bolton Castle, and Skipton Castle. Lunch in Skipton if we make it in time, if not the tea in Skipton! |
