Re: Re:

Evening all

One short shower and then another sunny day. T'aint natural.

Am I right in thinking that you cannot get HD until your region has become digital. You may have that up north already but I think the London area was about the last to be scheduled for it to be effective. So I have a 'HD Ready' television which is patiently waiting.
If you've had experience of it, does it make a great deal of difference. When the Japanese first started marketing HD (I saw an early demo in Germany) there was some discussion as to whether another way to go was to merge two images at the old lineage, take at slightly different angles so as to provide a 3D kind of image but I don't think anything came of that. Now you have to buy expensive glasses if you're that keen on the idea.

Re: Re:

...HD is no good to you in digital, that is STILL terrestrial. You need Sky for HD....and yes, there is considerable improvement for sport, natural history but hardly anything else....it lets you see the warts clearly on the newsreaders chin....but who needs stuff like that!

Re: Re:

.....oh, and a "HD ready TV" is no good to you at all......unless you buy the extra 'box' that lets you utilise it!

I like the new set up for F1, there's a lot more excitement now that overtaking has made a come back.

Sunny here in the Midlands but a chill in the air, forecasters got it right re; the rain, mostly rained overnight so still been able to get out in the garden.

Have a good day all ...... rose good luck

Old Sage cool
Ps. I have just heard of the loss of John Walker of the 'Walker Brothers', a sixties pop group, 'The sun aint gonna shine anymore' My ship is coming in' etc' a wonderful guitarist, John was responsible for setting up the group that weren't actual brothers. He died of liver cancer.....
RIP John
