Re: Re:

Good moaning all...

Cold and wet here in the Midlands, weather wise that is! sad
Must put on a smiley face tho, sunshine can't be far behind, cool

WeatherWhether the weather be fine,
Or whether the weather be not,
Whether the weather be cold,
Or whether the weather be hot,
We'll weather the weather
Whatever the weather,
Whether we like it or not!

Have a sunshine day......... good luck rose

Re: Re:

Well, I did go to the garden centre, and got a few plants I needed and it didn't take long at all really, although it was just as crowded as usual - think every one in this area must be a "gardener".

However, having arrived home safely, had to plant the 'new' plants didn't I? Fine, but then one thing leads to another, does it not? Had to move "these plants" so that "the other plants" still looked alright, then there wasn't space here for those, and those didn't look right where they were supposed to go, etc. etc. etc.!! Then I had to clear up the mess I had made there, and also plant a really 'posh' (and expensive') new plant in an appropriate vessel, and that mean't moving other plants, etc., etc., etc. - I expect you get the picture, and I have just finally cleared up and come indoors! So now my legs and knees hurt, my back hurts, my wrists really hurt badly, and I am going to lie down on the settee, and watch the box!! crying And I bet there is only rubbish on that!

"It is being so cheerful that keeps me going" - now whose saying was that? Someone well known I think. However, I may think but I never remember!! sad blushing

'Spect your mum used to say it to you when you was little biggrin
& she would have heard it on the Wireless from ITMA's Mona Lott, The depressed laundress's 'It's being so cheerful that keeps me going', smile
Mind you I know people who fit that ticket today smile

Re: Re:

Evening all

Ah those were the days. ITMA followed by the Goons, Round the Horne and even Dick Barton, Special Agent.
I went to one recording of the Goons which was hilarious. The others all fooling around when one had the mike... and one take and it was in the can. Now, as I read, they spend all day for half an hours television and the comics always reckon that their best bits have been left off.
But that's just me acting the real old fogey. It's just that now, with shows like 'Have I Got News For You' you know nothing is spontaneous as they are all reading off the TelePrompter.

Re: Re:

...Mind you at my advanced age I am grateful to still have teeth, both my fathers and my grandfathers were in jars by now!

Oh mercy! There must be a copy of Eats, Shoots and Leaves within proximity corrupting me with its dark side as my mind wonders why your fathers and grandfathers would be in jars at all? Ah, but thankfully, I am saved by the fact that this old fart actually has a handful of neurons that are still capable of functioning as you clearly meant their teeth and not them in their entirety! Any day when all you have to worry about is a couple of wayward apostrophes is indeed a GOOD day! wink laughing
