Re: .

Evening all

Am now looking forward to Christmas dinner of roast rib of beef and all the trimmings. That, with a bottle of Burgundy from daughter No 1, should make me sleep well later.

Re: .

Evening all

Watching Gone with the Wind on a DVD this afternoon (an annual treat) I am amazed at well it stands up as a film. Although too young to see such a long film, I remember it being on in Horsham in 1939 before other things became more important and we moved as Dad had to get another job as our present farmer decided he could get cheaper labour with the introduction of Land Girls.

It all turned out for the best as the daughters of our next farmer still keep in touch with my sister and one of them has just passed her 100th birthday.

it rose above freezing yesterday evening and started raining later on
@ 19.30 We had a two hour power-cut that bought our dinner to a halt
