Evening all
Very little more snow here after the additions during the night although the temperature still hovers around the 2 degrees. Slid round to the local bistro for the celebratory lunch, which was very good and not too far to slide along the pavements. Shall, once again invest in a cab for the trip to Sainsbury's tomorrow. Still, they've sent me a voucher for a free box of chocolates so that may ease the pain. Why am I not rich enough to be looking forward to the start of the second Test even if they've had the odd shower recently? |

Minus 14 last night. and about one FOOT of snow!
A trifle chilly what? What? what? Milk should last another two days, then will have to go onto tinned stuff (I have one in the cupboard!) Spuds are also running low, apart from that I can cope for a week or so. Which is just as well cos I cant see the car at all, just a huge snowball! Whatever happened to Global Warming I ask myself? |

Everything well covered with snow still and no sign of any thaw whatsoever!
I am definitely going to run out of milk today. Don't know whether to see if the car will start, or risk going on shanks pony - both choices pretty dicy methinks. ![]() |

Snow hasn't melted at all!! Completely out of milk, so I took my life in my hands, de-iced the car, and drove very slowly on what was like an ice-rink to the local supermarket. Roads were empty - reason became obvious when I drove into the carpark, and found the world and his wife had beaten me to it, and they were already in the shop! Anyway, it was a good idea because at least I won't now starve for the next few days!
Neither will I be going out again unless there is a sudden thaw!Hope you are all keeping safe - take care! |

Evening all
It remains chilly here but snow is not a problem. Daughter No 2 lives on the Bradford/Leeds border and they've had to leave their car a couple of streets away so as to be able to make it to the main road. However, their school in Leeds has been closed for most of the week. Cabs to and fro made shopping a pretty easy experience and I even got a free box of chocolates for being such a good customer. I also have enough points to pay for the Christmas shop which might go some way to make up the way the gas consumption is currently chugging along. |
