Evening all

The higher temperature today soon got rid of what snow remained and the Village gardening Saturday went with mild weather as severe pruning of all the bushes took place. We've got a council grant (in competition) to get one section of the Village square replanted next year so this was in some preparation.
A good turn out with many new faces seems to indicate that the idea is catching on and a local resident came out to take orders for tea or coffee for all those participating.

The week after next we shall have the regular carol evening around the tree with a free glass of gluwein to get things moving.

Another dry and not too cold day but I think things will change very soon with another burst of arctic weather coming.

I really must get into town this week and do some Christmas shopping. We have a tradition of lots of small presents wrapped in ways that hide their possible content. That, with a bottle of champagne forms our traditional morning.
