Virtual sounds interesting.
----------------------------------------Most bears reside in curio cabinets so they stay clean. A cold air hair dryer works wonders for cleaning their fur.

There is no end to what you can learn on this forum.
Now everybody knows how to provide housing for and do cleaning of teddy bears How many curio cabinets do approximately 3,000 teddy bears fill up? How tall is an average Boyd Bear? If virtual sounds interesting enough for you, please register at Base Camp's frontdesk to make sure you will have your well deserved plaque in the Base Camp Hall of Fame. |

They reside in 12 curios a few antique book cases, various shelves, baskets and pieces of furniture of all sizes. They range from 2" up to 44" in height although the majority are 12" and less. The ones in the curios top out at about 12", that makes getting a large number of them in there possible because I fill in the gaps with the smaller ones. The largest ones of course reside on full sized furniture IE one sits in an antique chair at a desk that was my dads when he was a child, another sits in a rocking chair that was made by my great grandfather.
----------------------------------------Thanks for the info, I'll get registered.

Are they all in one room or in all/most rooms of your home?
And how about your wife’s – do you keep them apart? His and hers? And does your wife collect Boyd Bears as well? It’s a large spread in size from the 44” – more than 1 meter – to the tiny 2” – 5 centimeters. So nice to let some sit in your heirloom furniture. Did your great grandfather actually make that rocking chair with his own hands? Was he a furniture maker – maybe shaker furniture? I like that so much. Thank you for you word of intent of joining Base Camp on our trek to Hungary. As soon as you appear there and your first results are registered, you’ll have your badge and your name in the Base Camp Hall of Fame. Unless the Hungarians begin to take a bit of action in their team thread, we’ll make our own arrangements in the Base Camp thread, which we may do regardless. |

No his and hers, they are one big happy family. Most of the curios are in one room however the bears reside in every room except the bathrooms.
----------------------------------------GGF wasn't a furniture maker but did make a pair of rockers, one of which I have and my aunt had the other. Have no idea where that one is now. Off to work I go. Catch you at base camp this evening.

One big happy family sounds good. Did you wife choose Boyd Bears as well or another make/brand/species?
If it isn’t too much trouble, and you find it safe, it would be nice to see a picture of GGF’s chair. If either of you have a Facebook account it’s fairly painless to upload pictures there and post with a link. I didn’t think you would come along on our Base Camp trek to Hungary. Nearsighted people are very particular. So are Danes. And if you have a nearsighted Dane it’s double. Trouble. Looking forward to having you along. Mike047 and I are on our second sightseeing day. Our diary is in the Base Camp thread for you to look at. Tomorrow will probably be the Royal Palace and the old Buda town up on that hill. |

Joined you on your trek tonight.
----------------------------------------A new experience for me, not sure what to expect but certainly interested to see where it leads.

Yes he can. We exchange posts and messages occasionally on face book or by email. The Edwardians used to be a very talkative group but I think the gabby ones either passed on or had to stop crunching or it may be that like a few I know, they simply don't have time these days to get on the Forums due to work and life events. We all still appreciate their crunching contributions though as that's what it's really all about.
