Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

Hi folks nice to see that folks still chatting here Sadly I received an email from WCG saying They were sorry that I had ceased crunching ???? it seems that I had replaced sick and failing machines but not downloaded the wcg app... all back and working again just four machines down 50% from what I used to have working ........ What used to be my daily ritual first thing each morning back when I was with UD before WCG was to come and read posts from all over the world.. Now its Fb local stuff In 2005 I was diagnosed with Prostate cancer............This lead to an operation to remove the offending part .... then setting up a Prostate cancer support group which now has a web page with links to Fb pages www.tbpcsg.org
In1992 some council owned land was designated as The Barleycop Community Wood ... however it was at that time just a boggy field so local residents me included planted native tree saplings .... 25 years on I'm still involved thinning the steadily growing trees & under brush woodland management .... along side this I also am associated with a local public park where we are planting bulbs and litter picking both these groups have Fb pages Friends of barley cop wood & friends of Ryelands Park so although I've been retired since 1997 there are just not enough hours in each day

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

I always admired your commitment to various worthy causes, don den
- I still do peace
You forgot to mention being a car and motorbike enthusiast, being a loco, having travelled a lot
- and have a street named for your father who was in the 'heavy water' operation in Rjukan, Norway
- and had Ted's and your timing and coordination been perfect, we would have met here

Perkele!
One thing is missing Bolton Castle sad
Ted took us to another part of the Yorkshire Dales
quite another is missing saying HI to you in person, don den crying

And you're a captain here, when you remember devilish wink

They just added one hour, don den.
No, I know what you mean.
To me the weather
- which has been unusually gloomy even for gloomy Danish winters -
stole my agenda:
"You must take a hike.
A challenging and very beautiful hike"

And, of course, one obeys when weather speaks to one. cool

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

Good morning everyone.
As they say, retire so you can be busier. Glad you got your PC issues sorted and crunching again. LM got me on the Base Camp kick so I'll be popping in and out of the team.

Hope y'all have a great day.

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

Good Morning!
I notice this thread is busy behind the scenes
- I know the number of it by heart love struck
acpartsman seems to have settled for good with SeriousCrunchers
- and he seems to have pulled his Sancho Panza with him.

This doesn't mean you have been forgotten.
apartsman is a busy fellow, but I
well, I'm busy the way retired people are d oh
- mousing around doing this and that and in reality getting very little done
- and flip out totally if the day has more than one fixed-time-appointment

and my capacity is not at all the size I would like it to be.

Time for a birch report:
They stand there in a light haze feeling comfortable temperaturewise
- 10C now, some 15C can be expected
it's overcast and we get the cloud cover in from the east and send it on to Lancashire and Yorkshire.
We even mix in some lightning for excitement.
But the birches hardly move, and their bellies are rounded
- do I sense a faint green shade on them?
Oh, yes, I never told you:
A wood pigeon couple built a nest three years ago in one of the birches.
They are busy spring cleaning and fixing the damage done by winter.
sad Oh, now it drizzles with støvregn - 'dustrain'; very fitting Danish word, I think biggrin

Oh I'll be back from time to time. I can't forget the team where it all started for me even though the person who recruited me is no longer with us.
RIP JP

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - WHY NOT JOIN US AS THE QUEST CONTINUES -

Good Afternoon!
The birches to the south are at it in all senses of the word
- they release their pollen to the chagrin of many an allergic person
- they have braved a Danish April-day which means a very mixed bag of weather, wind, sun, percipitation (in liquid form only, tho')
- they have this delicate yellowish-light-green colour
- one of them is a bit ahead of the others
- it may be the two small unspecified blooming trees that inspires him,
- because he's a male
- he cradles the wood pigeons' nest in his arms smile
