Thanks Vincent! There was a lot of buzz in the markets about it this morning. Apparently some “unnamed” hedge fund managers have rumored that Jobs is dying. He has recently had surgery and has been out of the public eye for awhile. Apparently it was done in an attempt to depress the stock price so they could cover their short positions with Apple stock. You have to admit he does not look all that well. He was reported as saying this morning, “The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” ![]() APPL ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Dataman at Sep 9, 2008 9:40:38 PM] |

What is everyone getting from Tiger Direct? I want to do more crunching than I currently am doing. I'm doing okay, just want to do more. :) I've thought about buying a new desktop, but mine isn't but a year old. It's a decent one, to say the least. If I bought a new desktop, how would I hook it up to run just wcg on it? Are there other things I could do with my current desktop? Lots of questions here.. just think of it as trying to educate a brick.. lol Dr. Mike.. ![]() Hey mike, you might want to think about getting a PS3. The upkeep in minimum, its processor is 16X faster than my quad processor and it doesn't require a monitor (plugs into your tv). All you need is a USB keyboard and a USB flashstick. I'm not sure what I'll do.. a PS3 would be nice, but not sure if I could really "use" it for wcg projects, right? What I meant earlier by "things" is upgrading my current desktop or how to speed it up, if possible. Dr. Mike (Hurricane Ike coming soon to a city near you.. rather me.. grr..) ![]() |

Real world applications today don't need more than a Core 2 Duo. Crunching on the other hand, is different. |
