Way to go Marc!!!!!!!!!

It's getting dark and the way-too-bright blue neon from the new machine is rather anoying. biggrin I'm going to unplug that light the next time I bring it down. laughing It does seem to be a quick cruncher though. By tomorrow I should have some stat's to compare it against my best HP's.

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 29 smilesmile

By the way, crunching with my graphics card, I produce 3232.06 BOINC credits in 13.1 hours. SO MANY POINTS, SUCH A SHORT TIME!

We can crunch with video cards now for WCG? Or is this a different BOINC project?

And that stinks Dataman... :S At least it's solved, I hope.

Nah you have to run folding @ home or you can run some chemical analysis details at www.ps3grid.net.

Jonathan, I took a look at ps3grid's website. Seems like a decent project and fairly simple if you have a PS3. As for running it on the graphics card, it appears to be just the Nvidia card and you have to download a new driver (could there be conflicts with drivers for the card itself? How well do they keep up their mods to the driver with updates to the regular one) and, this is hurts, they require BOINC 6.3.10 (I suspect it works pretty well but I haven't see anything yet on WCG supporting it). Not a project for your average joe. Still, I'll keep it in mind for the future,

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 29 smilesmile

I knew that going in, but I thought that at least Tiger Direct would be good about it.

I can't say I have a problem with Tiger Direct. They screwed up at first but made good on the deal by shipping 2-day air and it arrived as promised. But IBP is another story.

I've only bought twice from Tiger but both times, the price was most definitely a good one. Not sure what their business model is but volume has to be a part of it. The monitor I just recently got for the desktop quad is really nice. I even got a follow up email checking to make sure I was satisfied. I'd say you do want to know what you're buying from them before you buy it though. I did call them with some questions about the monitor and was pleased with the answers and treatment. Still, monitors aren't the sort of thing I think would push someone on the other end of the phone technically. Still, we know to stay away from IbuyPower, as a brand and as a business.

EDIT: Just had a wicked thought. Obviously, something hokey happened when IBP loaded the OS on your quad. Not too many folks would have thought of the recovery disk and solved their own problem. Wonder if letting the Dark Lord's minions know that you got a brand new machine from a seemingly reputable business claiming the OS copy installed was pirated might be a nice was of reciprocating with IBP?

We sure have a lot of photo finishes here at MOT. wink

I think I have finally found a P4 friendly project. Milkyway. The P4 I kept never made more 85%-90% of credits claimed. On MW it is banging out 175% to (for 1 WU) 300%. I don't know if it is a quirk for that machine or it's really a P4 friendly project as I do not have another one to which I can compare results. Either way I will take it. biggrin

If you can boot it up Dave, I think you are going to really like it. Was just joking on canceling your order. But what an ordeal. It just finished 4 FAAH jobs ... LOOKING GOOD. biggrin Better stat's tomorrow.

Sure hope so! Can't afford anybody else's quad yet. Mine is in drop ship status at the moment. The KVM switch has shipped (at least UPS has been notified). Will have help from a couple of my sons when it comes to getting it up and running. Third son is DP manager at a shp with a few AS400's and a bunch of PC's. His PC knowledge has bailed me out a few times. Hope we have better luck than you have had. Glad you got it up and running.

Feel free to write and maybe Blizzie, me, or Keith (not DATAMAN though) can help you if you need it.
