Re: t'Re: Tribalwar

Sorry piotrr

I'm sorry for tarring you all with the same brush. If you could feedback to the other members of your team who feel the same way that would be appreciated.

Thanks for your support.

Regards

Dave

While I agree with piotrr that you should not lump all of TW together I must say that I disagree with him about luc.

mr_luc started a freindly competition with MOT to bolster the TWspirit, and it worked!

This friendly competition was turned into to something more by members of MOT and the forum moderators, who were then suprised when members of TW did not take kindly to them.

not talking Don't let piotrr convince you that he is a voice for the majority of TW, because none exists.

Re: t'Re: Tribalwar

Some people simply do not believe that it is possible to have "friendly competition" in any meaningful sense.

It is not worth anyone's time to slow down for these people.

In other news, this has been our SEVENTH STRAIGHT DAY of 10K point growth in daily output. It also marks 7 days since the creation of the "learn to hate our competitors" thread. ;)

This chart illustrates the growth.

Hi Wraithed

I'm sorry but starting a thread on your forum that was titled along the lines of "Know your enemy Team's we like to hate" and then continued with a diatribe about the appaling MOT and how we needed to be crushed. Followed up with the vitriol that was spouted against us across the forum likening us to neo nazi's, baal worshippers and baby sacrificers could hardly have been started with friendly intentions

Under what circumstances could this have been interpreted as such?

As for MOT members being humourless by not appreciating your obvious jovial intentions please accept my humble apologies.

Dave

I would say that that should have been your first HINT that we could not possibly be serious, but there was no need for hinting -- we explicitly stated
that we were not serious, and that it was intended in a humorous way.

It should have been obvious to the meanest intelligence -- and it is the opinion of an increasing number now that it was and has been for some time -- that no one would seriously accuse another of child sacrifices or worship to ancient pagan gods. laughing There is no way for anyone, ANYONE, to pretend to take such things seriously. Furthermore, there is no excuse for anyone to take them seriously.

When we blatantly, repeatedly state that we are doing this purely as a means of maintaining interest via friendly competition,

that it is ludicrous and absurd that anyone could honestly hate another team based on a name,

that we consider MOT to be "the good guys" here,

when we create content that clearly mocks the supposed seriousness of our claims (MOT == communist? MOT == hippies? MOT == Stepford Wives? wink Humor?),

then there is no excuse for anyone, regardless of personal preference, experience, culture or ASTRAL PLANE, to act offended, miffed or otherwise hurt.

If they do, they are being unreasonable.

Now, a graph that includes total numbers:

The title of his thread was "[WCG] (learn to hate our competitors)" and it was very tongue in cheek all the way through. He claims a dislike of your team name, which is an absurd reason for anyone to hate, and thus is funny. It is under these circumstances that I believe it was started wtih the best of intentions for the WCG. However, it was not seen as such.

Clearly something that happened on these forums, i.e. deleted posts, oversensitivity and some other issues caused the "diatribe". The way I see it, this was started before the "diatribe". I agree that it has changed and is no longer friendly, at least for lucs part I think.

You do not need to apologize for your team, actually I don't think you should. If MOT doesn't appreciate or humor I hope they can at least appreciate the zeal that it created for the WCG.

Be certain of this though, TW is gunning for you MOT. And, we won't stop there!

Hi Wraithed

At least now we are talking. You have garnered a great daily total and I think you will, all things being equal, get to us before we get to Canada. It will be the first occasion that MOT has taken a step backwards since the start of the project. But when you get this high there's not a lot of up and a great deal of down smile

Night

I think you guys have done amazingly well for a group of geographically dispersed people banded together under the name "MyOnlineTeam". We were just saying in the locker room over at TW that you guys have more crunch than Nestles.
