Problem with Linux?
Hi, at least two of machines all of sudden aborted all WUs by project. I could click update and it would run some for a bit and do it again until it would not give me anymore. Is there a problem all of sudden with Ubuntu 7.10 64 bit. I have been running this for months with no problems. I put the windows drive on and ran Prime95 small ftts with no problems, OCCT and running Folding at Home SMP with no problems. I do not think it is my machines...

It is Ubuntu 7.10 64. Ubuntu 7.04 64 rigs are not doing it....

I've seen this before on my x64 Kubuntu when my 32 bit libraries were removed, in my case by installing another program that removed them.
Just for fun make sure you ia32 libraries are installed.

I've seen this before on my x64 Kubuntu when my 32 bit libraries were removed, in my case by installing another program that removed them.
Just for fun make sure you ia32 libraries are installed.


Surely there still installed or my dual folding smp clients would not be working? There quad rigs and I run Folding sometimes also. Both machines just started doing it this evening. I gave up and put them back to folding for now until I can see where the problem is...

Edit: Checked 32 bit libraries and there ok.

Which project(s) of WCG ran fine and suddenly started crashing?

Can you post the message log 10 lines before and after such an WU abort. Log file stores are called stdoutdae.txt and stderrdae.txt to find the messages.

Also if you visit the My Grid > Result Status page and click on an "error" in the Status column it will show the result log. We'd like to see that.

What client version are you running and where did you get it from? The 32bit libraries are important as that's what WCG needs. It's though too early to determine if they are the cause.

I am a Linux n00b, I am running HCC DDT and Aids. In the error status there is nothing, there are 39 pages of errors from two machines with 0 runtime on any WUs.

You are using a buggy version of BOINC. It may not affect your problem, but I strongly recommend upgrading to the current recommended version so we can rule out any problems related to the unsupported version.

I notice that your HCC work units are failing immediately. As a temporary measure, please remove HCC from your project selection and we will see how it goes just working on the other projects.

It appears to be working now that I have the newest version of boinc. Weird how it was working for a few weeks and all of a sudden decided to quit and only on the 7.10 version, 7.04 work fine. Anyway updated all the clients. smile

They are still doing it, the 2 machines in question have used all of the daily 499 WUs any other suggestions?

Are you the same member as road_runner?

If so, have you tried disabling HCC?
