plewdawg, Everyone is a n00b some point in life...Just hang in there. Find the science application. In my case on my 32 bit kubuntu pc at home I just installed it to my home directory. So my science application was here /home/brink/BOINC/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/. Yours may be elsewhere. I'm running dddt so my science application name was wcg_dddt_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu So go to the directory where the science application is running and type ldd wcg_dddt_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu <--your file name may look different of course. You will get a return that looks like this... linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libdl.so.2 (0xb7ee4000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7ecc000) libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (0xb7d81000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7efd000) Post the results. Ok here is one. david@david-desktop:~/BOINC/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org$ ldd wcg_dddt_autodock_5.10_i686-pc-linux-gnu linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000) libdl.so.2 => /lib32/libdl.so.2 (0xf7f5b000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib32/libpthread.so.0 (0xf7f43000) libc.so.6 => /lib32/libc.so.6 (0xf7df8000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xf7f6e000) Here is another: david@david-desktop:~/BOINC/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org$ ldd wcg_faah_autodock_5.42_i686-pc-linux-gnu linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000) libdl.so.2 => /lib32/libdl.so.2 (0xf7ee2000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib32/libpthread.so.0 (0xf7eca000) libc.so.6 => /lib32/libc.so.6 (0xf7d7f000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xf7ef5000) I do not see an autodock file for HCC? plewdawg, your HCC science app would look something like this... wcg_hcc1_img_5.19_i686-pc-linux-gnu
use "top" or some performance monitor GUI tool to see the name of the science app running. I use KDE System Guard. It's like winblows task manager. Didactylos, do you see anything out of order on his return of results? ![]() |

snip...It is Ubuntu 7.10 64. Ubuntu 7.04 64 rigs are not doing it.... I am running kubuntu 7.10 x64 here at work. I just did an "sudo apt-get install boinc-client" (and "boinc-manager") and it installed boinc 5.10.8 from the universe repo. I have had no problems to date. I'm thinking the problem is on your end so waiting for a fix may be a long time in coming ![]() The output from ldd is posted above.... |

I don't know how to fix your problem here but you can try installing the boinc package from here
http://www.getdeb.net Download both boinc-client and boinc-manager 64bit. Install the client then the manager. See if this works better for you. ![]() |
