Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Morning All

Snowed here last night too. Then rained a bit, now snowing again. Consequently the road is now an ice rink and due being on the side of a hill, people are abandoning their cars as they can't get up it and they don't want to risk sliding down it and into the main road without stopping.

Beemers and Mercs are causing most of the problems creating more ice by skidding around... that fancy rear-wheel drive doesn't seem so clever now eh?

Anyway, a good excuse to "work from home" - the downside being a very busy day tomorrow if I make it into the office.

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Evening all

Well the promised rain came here and now there is no sign of snow on the road outside the house and just a few remnants on the lawn at the back. Sleet promised for tomorrow so it's likely to be just unpleasant rather than dangerous.

For those of you still in the snow belt, keep warm and safe.

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Evening all

The early morning sleet here soon turned into rain and no signs of the white stuff until another lot decides to come through.

So. my walk to the supermarket was damp underfoot but nothing worse and 'gott sie dank' no problem for a taxi to provide the return journey.

'Village' gardening morning tomorrow so I could do without any precipitation.

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Good morning folks.
Seems like a dry day today, no snow forecast, lets hope that some of that we already have will begin to melt. Its that frozen you could build with it!
House alterations now almost completed, time to start saving again from the meagre pension (which the government calls "benefits" for tax purposes. -Private pensions are called "Unearned income!" - fifty years of unearning in my case!)
