Unable to upload finished work units

I have three machines running BOINC 5.4.11 (two at home, and one at work), and seem to be having trouble uploading completed work units. The agent on my home workstation indicates that the application encountered an HTTP error:

That is possible. Perhaps you picked a time when the servers were doing a backup. There have also been a couple of random short outages.

Try a different time of the day to see what happens. I just finished several uploads with no problems.

A couple of other possibilities exist, however remote:

1. A cable or other physical connection has become unplugged although you should see a warning on your taskbar if this happened.

2. If you are using a switch, it may have become hung up due to a power fluctuation. Simply unplug it and plug it back in, this should reset the switch and re-establish contact.

3. The modem(if on dial up) or rj45 port(broadband) may have gone bad.

4. You may have a deficient or defective cat5 cable which may be due to bad connectors or some sort of outside or intermittent electromagnetic interference.

I run several systems on old salvaged equipment and have encountered all of these.

I also seem to have problems. But in the same client I have climateprediction.net running fine, so it's not the network. This happens on two different PCs, too, one Win one Linux. I'm behind a proxy and have McAfee VirusScan 8 running (and can't do anything about it, corporate).
Ah, I forgot: I can't even download from WCG

Given CPDN is working and WCG is not, it could be McAfee 8 which has reported issues, but, it seems more related to the WCG-UD agent than BOINC.

If behind a corporate firewall u could ask them for permission to add exceptions for BOINC and add rules to McAfee, but than corporations often do not allow 3rd party/un-approved software to be installed on clients or communicate thru their systems.

Presuming u managed to attach to WCG with BOINC, can u copy / past WCG related entries from the message tab pertaining to the an attempted communication? We might learn something from those.

No upload or download for Boinc FAAH on all machines,
MalariaControl is working OK so my network is intact,
Nod32 and firewalls turned off.

I have a couple of hosts that can't upload completed HDC WUs this morning. Their internet connection is working fine. I'm not that worried at the moment but will keep an eye on things during the day.

I've got the same problem, upload or download not working with boinc 5.4.11 on WinXP and BOINC 5.4.9 on MAC OS/X
