Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

IBM & WCG aren't the only ones having problems complying with GDPR.

Completely irrelevant as far as the issue with WCG and other DC projects are concerned...

Ralf

Sure is because everyone can still use WCG!

The regulation also extends additional rights to consumers, including the right of deletion and the ability to request their data from a company and take it to another digital service.

How in the world are they going to implement that?

While the regulation is enforced in Europe, some of the protections could be extended to Americans. In the event of a future data breach, American users could also be entitled to legal remedies against companies that are established in the European Union and process user data there if the case was brought in a European court, according to experts.

They obviously love lawyers in Europe. It will keep a whole generation of them employed.

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

I'm sorry. blushing
On the other hand, a very radical solution to EU's pie in the sky would have been for IBM and all their subcontractors,
General Motors and all their subcontractors,
and Microsoft and .....
to ignore the grandstanding from the EU.
How many can the EU sue?
whistling Good old civil disobedience
- well, I know, the world doesn't work that way ... you can always dream angel
besides the train has left even as it was delayed.

I once suggested that all the construction and service men people riding their pickup trucks to Copenhagen
daily for easily three hours from a wide radius stopped doing that for just one week and see how
many toilets would flood .... devilish with nobody at hand to fix them tongue
- just to underscore the madness.
Nobody bit - and now the transport time is up instead of construction of more lanes and bridges ... d oh

Actually, it is very educational. It is just important that the EU and the U.S. not make the same mistakes at the same time.
That would be a real mess.

In which way?
- I'm not very good at bureaucracy
I see no difference pre and post except for a lot of cruncher being unhappy because they miss their stats sad
You choose to hide your country, but many never listed that in the first place crying
No, please don't try to explain the advantages to me - it will be a complete waste of energy better used elsewhere coffee coffee

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

Then I won't explain the advantages :-)

The fact is that there was/is a very simple solution - just show members who didn't opt in as "hiddenmember-4352351" in the statistics (because the stats are not PII). But rather than implement this, IBM chose to kill the API (hopefully just temporarily).

If it was about logic, it would be done already.
