Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

Ok for global stats but not for individual stats ...

For those, you have to contact WCG to sign some sort of GDPR papers (when they get finished).

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

I wish GDPR didn't affect USA crunchers :( I miss crunching for meaningful goals like "Smash Childhood Cancer" and Stop Ebola. None of the other Gridcoin White-listed projects are for preventing diseases. They are for mapping the galaxy, crunching the Collatz Conjecture, etc... I hope IBM comes around and gets white-listed again soon.

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

I hope this stuff gets finished very soon. We're about to see a few of our teams biggest contributers switch or stop completely due to the lack of statistics.

In our team we're all a big fan off statistics (it's based on a tech forum), we post them on a daily basis. It also gave some competition on our "own" leaderboards. To see this reduction of 20% in output already so far and then another 25-30% considering to switch/quit would be awful.

Is there any ETA possible?

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

This sad story is a complete disaster !
No anticipation (25 months were available), (stupid/meaningless) over-interpretation of regulatory requirements, inability to challenge the requirements against the technical design, uncontrolled (and probably selfish) lawyers, ... the world is perfect.

I am not willing to repeat the regulatory and technical inputs I provided 6 weeks ago. I am sufficiently self-confident to be able to know that these inputs contained about 90% of a smooth and practical solution.

Taking this disaster from the bright side, I have to thank you for having provided a wonderful example of inappropriate regulatory management as we have to face regularly in the industry. It was a nice real life illustration for my keynote session in Bonn on 2018-06-18 at the "Pharma IT Compliance Conference".

Cheers,
Yves

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

Apologies if this isn't the right place, but it didn't seem appropriate to start a new thread just for an observation ...

I just took a look at "First 5,000 Registered Members" for old times sake. Only it isn't any more, and the URL shows why: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewS...erAT.do?sort=registration

What it shows is a list of members sorted by registration date, but since members who have been dormant for too long have now been deleted, and maybe more have asked that their stats not be shown, it is no longer the first 5000 members to register.

I thought this was an interesting historical record, but it isn't any more.

Had we (I) been consulted about this, I would have suggested that the historical list remain, and the links to those members whose statistics are not available simply be removed.

But we weren't, and it isn't. sad

They must have a pretty high threshold for removing dormant members. I see the second person on the list is "Moose" who has not returned a work unit for 116,107+ hours which works out to a little over 13.25 years. I suspect they have not yet removed the dormant members, although I will concede the possibility they may have removed some members for some other reasons.
Cheers

Re: Data exports & status of Data Processing Agreement

Sgt. Joe,

OK, I admit it, you're perfectly correct. blushing So maybe my assumptions were wrong. Nevertheless, I seem to be a LOT higher up the list than I remember being in the past.

Maybe it's senility that's setting in ... skull Or does anyone else in the list think that things have changed?

I was going to suggest that I just be ignored but, actually, the logic behind my earlier post is still valid: were inactive members or abstainers to be removed (assuming that none have yet), this list would change dramatically and would lose its historical interest.

Nuff said. I'll shut up.
