Propose first to set "Don't request work" in project tab, complete your work, than hit Project Reset, which gets rid of any spook files.
If you have other projects, suspend them in the project tab. Finally, hit the "Request/Allow New Work" button on projects tab and see what happens.

Is your client requesting work? i.e. do you see the 'requesting 2000 seconds of work' message? Or is it that the server is not sending work when you request? Can you give us the content of the messages tab?

Kevin, the client seems to be requesting work as I can see the 'requesting xxx seconds of work' message - it does it about 1 hour before the completion of an HDC unit and 2 hours before the completion of an FAAH unit.

I am trying to post the content of the messages tab to you within this post, but everytime I press reply to the post I get an 'Error executing SQL in PostDAOImplJDBC.create.' message confused - maybe the message is too long?

That clearly shows it is getting the default 0.1 days worth of work. Are you sure you have updated your preferences properly? Set the preference in the venue that matches the venue the client is using, saved it properly, and then forced the agent to fetch the preferences?

At least we know that asking for 2, 4, 143 seconds of work is not going to get u any as all WU's are much longer.

What's your <work_buf_min_days>0.1</work_buf_min_days> value in the global_prefs.xml file? For Completeness, post that file content as well.

0.1 = 2.4 hours buffering. Thus an 8 hour FAAH would cause u not to fetch a new one until about 2 hours before completion....with your higher DCF, its in fact stretching that work call a bit.

Hey Sek, the first request is for 8640 seconds. That's 2.4 hours, and a dead giveaway that it's using the default.

I just saw a checkin for the server code which said:

so I want to check to see if this is your problem first before I update the code with this fix that David checked in.

I have checked my preferences, I have 3 set up there Default/Home/Work and all 3 are set at Connect to network every 2.0 days.

I have looked in my Boinc folder and I can't find a global_prefs.xml file.

@Kevin - I assume this is where I'm supposed to find the <mod_time>1163439109</mod_time> field?

Could this be where my problem lies if I don't have this file in my folder?
