I re-installed Boinc last night and as a result aborted 2 days worth of WU's.
Now I see I am unable to get 2 days worth of work on the machine despite requesting it via my preferences. I do not have the usual 'No work could be sent - reached daily quota of x results ' in the messages tab - but I suspect it is still due to the servers activating the download limit due to errors failsafe. knreed as this machine is stable and the aborting of work was due to re-installing a new version of boinc from scratch rather than errors - can you please manually raise my download limit again to allow me to get 2 days work please? Machine is Adywebb4 Thanks in advance, Ady ![]() |

It is more likely that reinstalling from scratch has reset the duration correction factor, so BOINC doesn't have a good estimate of how much work it needs for two days.
Crunch a few units, then update again. BOINC should self-adjust. |

Didactylos, I'm afraid it has already crunched a few units, updated and no joy
I have had him do this before in the past - and was hoping he may kindly do it again ![]() |

If it is a quota issue, you will always get the message. Be patient: BOINC's work scheduling is something of a black art.

Actually put a link thru yesterday on the DCF and the logic, but has nothing to do with the quotation of work, post cancellations.

Thanks Kevin - but that obviously wasn't the problem as it still won't download extra work
I have Run and Network both selected to work based on preferences in Boinc Manager, and set connect to network every 2 days in my home profile, so I'm at a loss as to why it isn't happening.... |

What is the estimated time to completion for the current running work unit? Glitches in the DCG and benchmark can cause poor estimation. The other possibility is a corrupt project debt figure. Is WCG the only project you run?

Yep only running WCG - the est completion time for the current unit is 7:15, already completed 2:22 so the overall time is 9:37 (FAAH 5.28)

Have a look in the client_state.xml file for a value called:
----------------------------------------<duration_correction_factor>0.770757</duration_correction_factor> As u see, my value is less than one, meaning its completing work faster than what the benchmark suggests, it always has significantly ..... I'm a chronic under-claimer i suppose. If the value is dramatically above 1, it indicates its completing work much slower than the benchmark or has been recently.
