So if 3 Core 2 Duo`s are in a quorum everyone loses points ?
Whereas 3 slow AMD`s gain ? |

Carl,
----------------------------------------I looked at one of my X2 3800@2.6. It takes roughly 4.66 hrs for completion, claimed credit ranges from 69-73, granted credit is 55-74 I use 5.4.9 client. This was quick rough look and the #'s may vary somewhat.

Carl, after looking at some wu's, your 3.3 6300 seems to be claiming a little low. Try rebenching it. Sometime the benches run at bad times and underscore. My 6300 at 3.1 currently claims about 65 for 3.5 hour faah.

Rebenched ! But I doubt anything would have been running last time, we`ll see. The D930 @3600 has the same thing too, nothing runs on that bar Windows and Boinc !

Carl: It appears from what I'm finding out today that Intels are taking a bath versus AMD based systems. I've also just had it explained to me that the high end Intels are taking a bath here. Here is just a subject header from one post going on at XS right now: The humble AMD X2 4400+ @2.6 GHz claims 40% higher per WU compared to the top of the line impressivly overclocked E6700 @4.2Ghz Yes, I know all the parties involved, both on stock BOINC client. Something is terribly wrong here. I really don't know how to write what I'm feeling. We just dropped close to $15,000.00 on parts to build woodcrest systems for WCG. Now I'm finding out that these because of the BOINC benchmark will claim points less than a mid range AMD X2. I have to get away from here before I say something I'll regret. ![]() |

I'd say you have a lot more work to do in the points arena than has been done so far... Penalizing for completing the same amount of work in a shorter time just doesn't make any sense at all... I'd think it should be the opposite?
---------------------------------------- I reckon somebody got their wires crossed when that brainstorm was hatched....or their running junk boxes for computers... ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 13, 2006 2:51:53 PM] |

Sure is food for thought and don't think I will be spending money to build a high end machine to get penalized in the end for my efforts.
