Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I'm in Two Harbors until Friday. We have quite a blizzard on hand. Less than a quarter mile visibility and snowing like crazy! Kind of fun if you don't have to drive.

Got a Clean Energy Beta work unit on my mac book. The estimated completion time is 25 hours!

Yeah, it is looking quite ugly here also. I94 is closed west of Fergus Falls.
I would not recommend any travel in the St. Cloud area either. The bands of snow have been coming and going, but when it snows, it is pretty heavy. I think Bearcat will be busy tomorrow.

I am guessing the beta units require at least 1 gb of memory so they are all out of my class. Also the time estimate on the betas is quite variable so it will be interesting tosee just how it does.

Cheers

The twin cities didn't get to much. St Cloud got hit pretty good. Can't wait for spring though. Had enough of plowing. Ready to get my boat in the water. Hoping the nice weather melts this stuff.

I'm hopin' for 9 figures. whistling laughing
What a glorious weekend eh? We need a much warmer start to the year this year. Last year it really never warmed up except for a few days in July and August. Many bug eating birds died off last year because the bugs never came out until late June. The DNR estimates the die off in the millions of birds. The impact of this is yet to be determined. Possibly a very buggy year this year??

I calculate that at your present rate that would be about 20 and 3/4 years for the nine figures. laughing But with advances in hardware who knows ?

I hope it is not a buggy year, but the tradeoff is that we get timely rains. The rains will keep the swamps full and they are bug breeders. Miserable for us but good for the birds and the bats who eat the bugs.
The last year we had here with few or no mosquitos was 1988, a terribly droughty year which was hot. Most of the local water holes dried up and there was no secondary or tertiary hatch. No mosquitos, but no crops either. sad

The big melt was sure on today. At least 52F(11C). Half of the yard is now a lake. It will stay that way until the frost goes out.

Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Hmmm HFCC. Looks like a good project. Interesting theory on a potential 1-2 punch for better treatment.

Count me in!
