Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Had a HDD go bad over the weekend. Son's computer. Lucky it was the drive with the operating system on it. All of his data was on the second drive. It was a small drive, 3.8g, so there was barely enough enough room for the operating system and all of the updates. It took about 3 hours and 7 reboots to get the system back up and running with all of the security updates in place. I did the replacement with a 10g drive that cost $7.00. It gives him a little more headroom on the C: drive. The junked drive will go to a guy I know at a data recovery service where they keep the old drives for any salvagable parts.

Cheers

I would like to see their face on IBM when they realise that their hosted service is increasing selling of DELL's computers.

I'm sure that they löööve this idea. wink
Send electrical bill to consumer and hosting fee to competitor. Something like that can only become form Switzerland.

Glad to see you found the forum. Every little bit helps. Some have only one computer, some run many computers. All the help is appreciated. Don't feel shy about stopping in and throwing in your two cents worth.

Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

OK...I'm sick of this cold weather and snow. crying

I don't know if I could live any further north than the twin cities. I was born in the Appleton MN area. Straight west on hwy 7 from the TCs. Out there the wind would blow until the snow drifts were so big we could walk up to the roof 2 stories up. Not enough trees to stop the wind and drifting. Don't like that too much either.
I just hope we don't have a spring like last year. It did not get warm until late June. We had millions of bug eating birds die off because of the late spring/summer. This year we should get a real handle on last years bird die off. I'm a bird watch if you couldn't tell. blushing

hunterkasy, nice to have you on the team. Are you an MN resident? Are you a windows, mac or Linux user?
It's Sunday night and I'm bored...can you tell? laughing

We still have at least 2 more nice winter storms before the big thaw. You should be well aware of minnesota winters. But, I can't wait for spring too so I can get my boat in the water. Theres a big large mouth bass waiting for me to catch. Just hope we have a warmer summer than last. Since I plow snow for MnDot in plymouth, I can bring you some piles of snow for your yard to make you feel right at home. laughing

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I'm a lake trout fan. Not because of the fight but because of the taste. It is one of my favorite fish to eat. Burntside lake just outside of Ely is one fun Lake Trout lake.
Mmmmm fishing. drooling

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I don't eat the fish I catch, just enjoy a good fight. Catch, take a picture, and release. Always looking for the bigger fish. I go up to lake alexander allot. Good size pike and muskie, not to bad for bass. Watab lake just west of st cloud has some good size trout. Very clean lake too. Just got my new huminbird last week so just itching to try it out.
