Re: Minnesota Crunchers

You seem to have the hydroponics down to a science. That is one huge CFL. It must give off quite some heat.

Got 2in (5.1cm) of rain today. Not hot (72F(22C)) but as muggy as a steambath.

Cheers

Shouldn't have sold my boat. We keep getting down pours like today, may need a boat to get around. Was in st cloud today and saw allot of flash flooding. Couldn't see 2 feet in front of you during the down pours. Hate to see what winter brings.

So far the potatoes and tomatoes are doing well, but almost all of my squash has gotten some kind of stem rot. A number of the squash have been wormy also. Too damp and wet I think, but who knows. My wife's peppers and cucumbers have done well though.

Cheers

Basically it gives 200W heat smile
Not any kind of challenge since using it on front of window, more like reducing draught. Think heat is problem when growing something on closet or something.

If I would have house, I think I actually would heat it with CFL:s.
Here on EU lamps under 25W does not need to be compensated, so low price lamps have power factor around 0,5 or something.
In praxis this means that those will take twice amount of current, that will be partly lost to heat on wires when idle power vibrate between lamp and transformer. But idle power is free for tiny consumers, think they will start to charge from it if main fuses are 63A (this vary between companies little a bit) or bigger. And since we have 400V, it kind of small industrial fuse size.
Trust me, I know what I'm doing.

Well, I might have shack on island. Do not know yet, but did offer bottom price for city about this:

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

I am so angry I could spit nails. Went out to my henhouse in the morning yesterday and found 9 dead chickens. A weasel must have gotten in there. They only kill for pleasure and do not eat the chickens but just leave them dead. I have shut up the place, but a weasel can get through a hole only about 1/2 inch (about 1.25 cm). I hope I can get the rascal.

Cheers
