Congrats Sgt. Joe on breaking the top 1000! Not sure if this is the first time for you, just noticed... http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=user&proj=bwcg&name=240599 http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewSt...amp;numRecordsPerPage=250 Thanks. Yes, this the first time I have been able to break into the top 1000. I had come close once before, I think about 1015 or so and then the GPU project for Cancer took off. I do not have any video cards that would work, just cpu power, so I dropped back a considerable ways. If another GPU enabled project comes along, I am pretty sure I would again regress in the points ranking. So I am going to enjoy it while it lasts. Points are nice, but that is not why I am here. I appreciate the notice. Cheers

Violent thunderstorms here this morning. I unplugged everything for while at 04:30 this morning. No more lightning now, just rain. Not too much I hope.

Little bit of harvest from the garden. I dug two rows of potatoes and these were the big ones of the bunch. Type is Yukon Gold. I got about a wheelbarrow full all together.

Little bit of harvest from the garden. Cheers Not sure have I ever seen anything size of those. Seriously there is meal for one on one potatoe. If I would manage to grow anything size of that, think would get it bronzed or something. Starting my miniature windowsill season now when days are getting darker. Basil this time. Got one on water and four seeding on rock-wool to sprout. There is one 15W/2800K lamp on top of that basil and seems to be very enough. Some tools for winter. That startgödseli on left hand side is Finn-made high-tech fertilizer (12-15-10) to optimize root growth, so using it for couple of first weeks and then start to use bulk stuff (12-5-14) that bag on middle. Dry pH down is basically phosphoric acid on powder form. When planting directly to water, pH should be around 6, so local tap water with 8,5 will just kill everything without soil. That long stick is conductivity meter, basically meter to adjust amount of fertilizers to water. As far as I have experience, even very mild solution (EC 1) is fine for basil, because those plants will consume serious amounts of water. Basil will "explode" very fine even with this mild (some plants can handle EC 3) juice. Tiny bottle below is seaweed concentrate. Not sure is it really necessary for anything, but because this is hobby, sure like to gadget around. If I would like to have basil, I just would buy it. Seaweed also has funny odor and leave stains that need to be sandblasted to get rid of. Then some new lamp, 200W 6400K CLF. Think it should take care one windowsill just fine since 15W is enough for one plant. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by ultimaThule at Aug 29, 2014 8:10:49 PM] |
