I think my problem with my wireless range extender has finally been resolved. It seems I had been letting my router assign an IP address to the range extender via DHCP. It has since been assigned a static address. Since the static address has been in place it has not needed to be reset at all. Furthermore, I used to get numerous instances of the "no heartbeat, client dead" messages, especially running MCM1. Since the change to the static IP address all of these messages have disappeared. I think that each time there was a glitch in the communication, DHCP would try to assign a new IP address. It was during this time that the cpu(s) utilization would drop to near zero until communication was re-established. Since the change all machines have ceased this behavior. Wish I would have known to do this sooner.

Nice...hopefully now it will be lower maintenance for you as well as having increased crunching output.

Sunday through Wednesday of this past week my rain gauge showed about 4.25 in(10.8cm) of rain, which fell mostly in a big chunk on Monday morning. This was nothing compared to the 24 inches(61cm) parts of Florida got. But nevertheless, coupled with the snow melt we had, this pretty much saturated the ground and raised the water table. For just the second time in the over 30 years I have lived here, I have water in my basement because the water table is at the same height as my basement floor. Thankfully I have an unfinished basement, so pretty much everything is now off the floor. Hopefully with some dry weather, the water table will go down and I can put everything back. My sump is running about 30 seconds of every minute, so at least that is keeping up.

Looks like more rain starting wednesday. Might want to put some floatation devices down there.
----------------------------------------On another note, sounds like your sump pump drains on same side as where your pump is located in the house. Shouldnt be running that much. Had same problem when I lived in sauk rapids. Ended up running a rubber hose attached where the exit point is and drained away from the house. Worked like a charm.

The sump is located near the front of the house. The trouble here is that I sit on a huge slab of granite which is about 20 feet under the surface. When we get substantial rain, the surface water sits on top of this. I have a pond south of me on the neighbor's property, the surface of this pond is about where the top of the water table is for me. It is slightly better today. Hope the rain holds off a bit. Cheers

That bites. With all the rain and snow melt this spring, aquifers should be full. Unfortunately storms are predicted this week. Stay afloat!
